Scizor

First off I have this guy and he is probably my favorite mon in regards to fun factor. He DESTROYS similar CP Eggs and is easy to dodge with. I could go through 4-5 of them in a row easily. If you have him and see a decent number of eggs in gyms it's a terrific min to spend a bit on.

However my question is that I just evolved an FC/IH. I see he is rated better but where if ever will the steel charge move serve me well on offense? Is IH so strong that it's just that good with stab?

Steel isn't resisted by much so it is a highly rated type (similar to psychic with lack of resistances). Bug is easily resistible.

Makes sense but what fairy, ice, or rock mons that we see in gyms am I going to utilize steel against? At least the bug moveset lets me target a specifically common mon in gyms here. The heart of my question is what defenders will this mixed moveset be good for for me.

You'd ideally not want a dual type for an attacker, they should be of the same type to exploit the defender's weakness.

Tbh I don't really see a point with a bug type Scizor. Two steel moves are where it's best as. Everyone's hyped with the matchup vs exeggutor but fire spin flareon does it with more style and finishes it within 1 cycle (or less). Don't think scizor is capable of doing that.

Stab steel moves are good for everything except fire (which god forbid you don't use scizor against), water (unfortunately this is very common), electric (which you don't see in gyms) or steel (which you also don't see in gyms!)

I'm not sure if Flareon is faster. I don't doubt he is. I do know my Scizor took down a Executor with 150 more CP with just one XS. I didn't even bother dodging and only took 20hp damage. And it was over in seconds. The thing is he resists all of Eggs moves too. But I get the gist; everyone has a ton of Flareons so is it really worth it.

Actually, now I think about it, scizor might be able to finish the job faster with the fury cutter/x scissor moveset because overheat or fire blast is going to overkill exeggutor by some margin. Best flareon is probably fire spin/flamethrower.

Double bug should also work well on pure psychic types.

I still think the true value of scizor is in the steel move side though. It's effective against more types in general.

You are probably right on both counts. It's also worth noting that I had almost two more xscizors to drop on the next egg had there been another one.

Wow.. I'm jealous of your moveset.. I got Fury Cutter and Crunch or some dark crap....

Thanks man. I actually evolved him in that short period right after gen 2 release where we were lost on what movesets we were sure were good. I wasn't sure it was a good set until I started using him. The other two after this one both got mixed sets.
