So Scyther is extremely rare for me. I have caught 2 and hatched 2. Luckily I caught a level 27 80% IV one so the post scizor dust spending would be minimized. Luckily for me one of those hatches were today wich means double candys. So I evolved the 80% and boom, best set, solid IVs, and a high enough level to minimize dust consumption. I already powered him to thirty, but now I wonder, should I buddy with him, use just a little bit of rare candies since taking a legendary up to 30 from 20 doesn't cooperate with my dust count. And isn't he in raids right now, is he staying after 4/17. Is he actually as good as a high dps resist all Mewtwo moves pokemon as he seems. Or is all of this just over hype and was taking him to 30 a waste of time. Just any advise on Scizor would be very much appreciated. Thank you...

Side Note: as for other attackers into Mewtwo or Lati@s, I have. Dragonite[3113](DT/OR){98%), Tyranitar[3223](B/CR){93%), Tyranitar [3082](B/CR){80%), And a Gyarados[2896](B/CR){78%). And that's about it, I also have assorted Houndooms and Gengars.

If you have Houndooms, you should replace the bottom row with them. Gyarados and Dragonite become good options if the boss has Focus Blast (they will likely show in up in the autoselect for that). And there is no reason to ever use Blissey as an attacker.

I am a big fan of Scizor and have used him to good results against Latios, Lugia, and Mewtwo (especially Focus Blast).

It's a glass cannon and has worked better after being powered up more. It needs bulk points. That said, it's not a rare candy worthy mon. You'll want to do the raids (right now - double candy!!!) , search for a nest, and/or hatch 5K eggs. It is also a semi-rare spawn in the rain. So consider going out then.

Best mon for busting up a Scyther raid: Golem. Powering this can help you power Scizor.

Mine is level 37, ATM. It works at 30, mind you, but it gets better and better after that.

Update: used my Scizor against Latios this afternoon. It fired off 8 X-Scissors and tanked one Solar Beam. Very solid mon. But I do remember having and using it at lower levels and not understanding the hype.

He only shines during rainy weather. Thats when he comes out on top of other dps against psychic. But aside from that when its not rainy he drops way below other mons cool to use but needs weather to really compete unless its double weakness mon.

Funnily enough, Scizor is one of my current projects as well, because I have no bug type offense available.

Mine is level 35 now, still relatively shit, but a very cool mon to use. It is likely also the best bug mon for a while, the really good bug mons don't come until Gen 7 if I recall correctly.

Decent against Mewtwo but Tyranitar will always outshine it outside of Rainy weather. Its Bug set can only really shine against double weakness Pokemon like Shiftry (Grass/Dark) and Celebi/Exeggcutor (Grass/Psychic).

Its Steel set rivals Metagross, and among other things could be quite useful if Gardevoir raids become a thing.

Scizor does not resist all of Mewtwo's moves, it takes neutral damage from Focus Blast, which usually kills it just like it kills Tyranitar.
It's a good psychic counter, but Tyranitar is always better. Scizor really shines when it's rainy or there's a double weakness to bug like Exeggutor. Since you don't seem to have 6 Tyranitars, I think it was absolutely worth it to add Scizor to the team but you should make sure it reaches the breakpoint against Mewtwo which is at level 31.5 for 15 atk IV. Since Fury Cutter is a fast low power move, reaching this breakpoint gives a huge DPS increase to Scizor.

Check out this table: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/6uiz6a/mewtwo_counter_breakpoints/

If your going to power up a Scizor to 30, you might as well go "all the way" and reach an important breakpoint. It will be worth it, especially if your not sitting on 6 Tyranitars.
