Santa Monica 1/14 Meetup Feedback
Did anyone else go to this? What was your experience?
+ Showed up early, at 11:30. Plenty of parking, a few lures (but not all). Lots of Wailmer and Karp spawns, and even caught a Donphan at the pier's end!
+ Saw the 12-phone dude from Reddit there. Awesome.
- Very hot. Phone was heating up, high battery consumption, and super low FPS. Low FPS made me unable to throw far enough on my phone to curveball Kyogre. Straight throws didn't catch it, but I'm not too worried since anything's possible. Friend straightballed an 89% first throw.
- By about 2:00pm the service on the entirety of the pier and surrounding area was completely out. Unable to login or connect, repeatedly turning on/off Airplane Mode. Luckily caught a Feebas that spawned that most people couldn't. Lost service immediately after until after 3:00.
- People were SWARMING the Youtubers that showed up. Poor PkmnMasterHolly - the fans completely engulfed her, only giving her about two inches or so of space.
- We left by 3:00pm since it all seemed downhill from there. Traffic got really bad on the Pacific Coast Highway due to an accident or something but we avoided it mostly.
- Couldn't find Mystic7 :C
