Is Salamence's moveset meant to be a joke or a horrible charged tm waste trip?

Please at least give him Dragon Claw or Outrage instead of hydro pump, this is one of the worst ruining movesets i've ever saw on what is supposed to be a decent pokemon.

Plus we don't even know how Draco Meteor looks like in GO, it could be very slow or something, but the other 2 i can swear is horrible save for placing fire fang/fire blast in gyms to fool ice attackers, although it only means that people bring lapras or walreins.

If you need any proof that this game is becoming the crux of jokes here is one of them.

It seems like niantic gives pokemon access to moves that counter their weaknesses. With Salamence, Fire fang/Fire Blast covers ice, hits Super Effective on steel which resists dragon, and hits neutral on fairy which resists dragon. For hydro pump, it covers its weakness to rock types. Otherwise, if Salamence had access to draco meteor, d claw/outrage, and fire blast, as a defender (and potentially a future raid boss), salamence would be destroyed by golem with little fear of getting KO'd in the process

I second your opinion that this game has minimal depth. I hope that this required upgrade to phones that can support higher versions of iOS is a sign that they are concocting a more advanced battle system to expand the depth of this game

Draco meteor will most likely be the SoB of dragon movesets. Don’t fret, young one. A good move set Salamance has, even if he only has one.

From the analysis I've seen, unless they change the numbers for it, it's worse than Outrage. Which actually makes it exactly like Solar Beam which is also worse than the best two-bar move of its type.

Calm down they have said there working on battling and when it does counter moves like this might be top tier.

I prefer this strategy of handing out movesets that have different purposes to movesets where one clearly outpaces the other for the same purpose. If you give Salamence Draco Meteor, Outrage and Dragon Pulse, what's the point?

Sorry my friend, but to be honest, Draco Meteor is a fantastic move, as suggested by our DPS analysis.

150 power is 150 power. And there's STAB! The cooldown is decent as well, 3.6 seconds. Overheat is 160 power with 4 seconds cooldown and everyone thinks it is a good move.

I've also run DPS calculations on Rayquaza if it had Draco Meteor. Guess what? DT/DM has almost identical DPS as DT/O, and actually marginally higher!

Right now, Salamance with DT/DM ranks #2 in DPS of all Pokemon, second to Rayquaza, and leading Mewtwo.
