Articuno/Jynx: Outclassed by Mamoswine, and to a lesser extent Glaceon and Weavile. Mamoswine is so good in fact, that with Avalanche, it beats out Kyogre for DPS VS Ground type opponents such as Donphan!
Kyogre: May be outclassed by Palkia, dpending on if Palkia gets a good moveset. It's still a safe bet, as when it gets Origin Pulse, it'll take crown of the type once again. (Provided that Palkia does not get Hydro Pump)
Venusaur: Tangrowth and Roserade boast heavy competition, and when Sceptile is to receive Frenzy Plant, it will then outclass Venusaur, after living in it's Shadow for so long.
Moltres/Entei: Entei was never really anything special, as in certain situations it preforms worse than Blast Burn Charizard, Flareon, and the soon to come Magmortar. The only saving grace was it's bulk. None of these Pokemon mean anything anymore, as Heatran has come, sporting more double resistances than anything else seen before it, including to all types Fire deals super effective damage to, as well as beating Moltres pretty much everywhere. (Also a great fat Normal type counter)
Raikou: Electivire boasts heavy competition, with higher attack and access to Wild Charge, but Raikou remains a safe bet VS hard hitting opponents like Kyogre. Magnezone, while having resistances, isn't any better than Thunder Shock Zapdos, even with Wild Charge, due to okay attack.
Snorlax: Porygon-Z and unnerfed Regigigas rival the Dragons for neutral DPS in Partly Cloudy, which is quite common. Snorlax isn't even seen on the charts. Need I say more?
Machamp/Hariyama/Breloom: Lucario with new (and or buffed) Fighting moves are the only threat. Toxicroak, even though it has access to C/DP (unlike poor Gallade) it's lower Attack keeps it out of contention. If Regigigas goes unnerfed, it'll be a solid choice, boasting huge bulk, but slightly worse DPS than Hariyama. (It isn't weak to Psychic or Fairy, which is even better)
Pinsir/Scizor: Even though Yanmega is coming, it doesn't learn X-Scissor, (but still outclasses Scizor, thank Fury Cutter) This puts Pinsir slightly ahead, enough that it remains king (or queen if you prefer) of Bug types until Gen 5. Yanmega is more bulky though, and it's Flying subtyping helps a lot.
Gengar: Has no competition except for Girantina, which sports better bulk for less DPS. The Origin Forme might pose a problem, however.
Metagross/Scizor: While Metagross may get Meteor Mash, Dialga will take Steel to a whole new level, (unless if Meteor Mash is insanely powerful) becoming an optimal counter VS Ice and Fairy types, beating out Fire types in both of these situations. (Clear weather is quite common though)
Tyranitar: Rampardos will already rule Rock type DPS, and the only thing that would keep it relevant is Rhyperior NOT getting Rock Wrecker or Rock Slide. On the Dark side, it's outclassed DPS wise by Weavile, Honchcrow and Darkrai, but those picks are all very glassy, and Tyranitar may preform better VS hard hitting bosses, despite Darkrai and Honchcrow lacking a double weakness to Focus Blast and Fighting moves. (Mewtwo, Deoxys)
Mewtwo: Nothing comes close to it. Azelf does outclass Alakazam and Espeon though.
Groudon: If Rhyperior rules Rock, it probably won't get Drill Run. If it does get it however, it will out preform Groudon VS most types. But when Groudon gets Precipice Blades, then it once again becomes the undisputed Ground type king once more. Garchomp is more tank than a threat.
Rayquaza: It'll remain top dragon DPS wise, but Palkia, Dialga and Garchomp all do really well, with massive TDO respectively, with DPS slightly less than Rayquaza. Also due to damage rounding, Palkia and Rayquaza will do the same DPS but Palkia will have higher TDO, being an upgrade to it. But we'll have to see. (The nerfing will hit pretty hard) And on the flying side, Straptor and Honchcrow, with Wing Attack and Sky Attack, both beat Rayquaza DPS wise quite soundly. Flying isn't really useful in the meta, as other types do it's job much better.
Fairy: Togekiss will rule Fairy types with Fairy Wind, unless if Gardevoir gets a Fast move Disarming Voice.
Therefore,
Safest Bet of ALL Generations: Mewtwo
Great Bets: Kyogre, Groudon, Raikou, Machamp, Gengar (Shadow Claw)
Okay/Good Bets: Rayquaza (Dragon), Hariyama, Hex Gengar, Breloom
Borderline: Tyranitar and Moltres
Not worth investment: Scizor (Bug/Steel), Metagross, Jynx, Articuno, Gardevoir, Snorlax, Entei, Rayquaza (Flying)
