Rhydon Usefulness
For what purpose do you use Rhydon? It is an A tier attacker but personally I think it doesn’t deserves that tier, it is amazing against electric raid bosses, namely Raikou, but against other mons weak to ground there are better counters, for example Metagross and Aggron probably will get steel moves that are SE against it, so unfortunately it’s ground niche isn’t so good, mainly because of the DPS

You're right.
He is like many other ranked pokemon no generalist. His double typing gives him a double weakness which makes him a bad defender as well.
But, up to date, he has the highest usable groundtype DPS. So, imho he deserves his place in the tierlist.
That's today.
He will be ranked even higher i guess, if he gets a rocktype quickattack, or better ground moves or when he gets his 3. stage evolution.
I for one still pineapp every catch and keep a trio of high iv for the things to come.
I use my 100% Rhydon for attacking anything that doesn't resist ground attacks, mainly in raids. She and the other female Rhydon (which I plan on replacing with a male rhydon if i can find a stronger one) have helped me beat 2 porygons that had solar beams.
Plus they're the best counters to pure electric types. Too bad Rhypherior looks so boring, to me at least.
I know, but since I lacked any fighting mons except a single great machamp, I chose the strongest other 2 mons I had aside from my dragonite. They survived one SoB each, and i didn't have to dodge at all, but i had to make sure something took a SoB before I switched the rhydons in, so Dragonite took several for them before. Also there was an Alakazam with (C/FB) at the end that finished the porygon off.
Supreme counter to Raikou and that's about it. Has good stats but ground type moves are horrible so Rhydon's neutral DPS is low. If they buff ground or give him a good rock-type quick move he will become better, but will always stay a specialist.
I think Rhydon is ranked high because nothing else is close to as good as it is against Raikou. Bit less DPS than Mewtwo, about the same as Dragonite, lasts many times as long as either of them.
Great against Raikou. Very strong against poison and fire (although Golem better against fire). Also decent against fighting and normal since he resists them, but not as good as Ttar.
Oh, they are great for Magneton raids. If you have a strong Rhydon, and get a Magneton with Zap Cannon, a little dodging will have you beat the boss without fainting. Pretty cool. And anything else electric (except Zapdos) struggles against Rhydon.
Every time there is a blissey or snorlax in the gym the stupid AI picks 6 Rhydon, and usually places the crappy rock smash/ megahorn ones first. It completely ignores my Draggys, Ttars, Machamps and Heracross and countless other pokemon I'd prefer using over the Rhydons which take forever to kill anything.
