Rayquaza is just so fragile
As a legendary, it is a bit disappointing that at level 20, it faints to a cycle of a level 40 perfect IV Blissey's Dazzling Gleam (averaged 5 Zen Headbutts) without dodging, cloudy weather, but Dragonite faints after 7.

I don't know why tankiness at level 20 matters but I do think the nerf hit Rayquaza a bit too hard. Players with maxed Dragonites are not going to be as motivated to raid it because it's only a small upgrade and probably not worth the rare candies even maxing one (except for fun). I'm much more excited about getting Latios in the future if it keeps DB/DC as a moveset since I never got a Dragonite with that.
Hear me out on this one.
For a lot of people (I generalise here for medium/high density areas) the legendary raids have inundated the gameplay. To the extent that for practical reasons, people will not choose to hunt alternatives due to ease of access and how powerful they are. The worst of which is still lv 20 and probably still have higher stats than their non-legendary counterparts.
No need to gamble/name change for Jolteon. There is Zapdos and Raikou in abundance.
No need to invest 400 magikarp candy and have a spare fast TM. AA decently high Kyogre is going to outclass any water attackers for a while.
Incentives for hunting good Rhyhorns may as well have vanished. etc.I am kind of glad that in this case, it feels more like a sidegrade than an upgrade. I can tell you that getting a level 20 Dragonite with decent stats is a lot harder than rocking up to a raid and a dice roll.
It’s so true. And there seems to be no way out of this model. Actually, the only thing that really keeps people hunting somewhat is stardust. But then again, that’s not hunting, it’s just grinding.
The game is one-dimensional. They should bring back some style of prestiging (basically to have a use for lower level mons... and to instigate a bit of thought/strategy beyond just hammering away at raids with your 6 most effective guys.
