Rarity from eggs

So since a while i was wondering. Are some pokemon easier to hatch than others from the same egg type. For instance, i'm level 33 and never hatched a single Snorlax yet, while i hatched several of the crappy ones like Scyther, Jinx etch... i also have hatched an insane amount of 5km egg, never found a single porygon but like 30+ paras/staryu. Is there some data somewhere showing that something influences it ? Is there some different % of dropping? Or am i just being unlucky ? I know my sample might be little but am wondering since all the 20 or so people i do know that play this game have had pretty much the same issue. Or at least that's what they said.

How many total eggs have you hatched?

There are lists of percentages but they are disputed. It's a fact that some are more rare than others(porygon, grimer, chansey, Lapras, Snorlax to name a few)

Some players believe the area you pick up the egg influences the hatch.

some players also believe that gyarados and rhydon belong in gyms lol. Most data suggests it's just straight RNG.

Pokemon like Lapras, Snorlax, Dratini are indeed lower probability hatches (all 5% or below from 10k).

I haven't even hatched 10 10kms yet probably like 8. I've got 3 atm but waiting for more (I'm a f2p player) lv28

I personally believe where you pick up the egg matters...more so for the mon probably than whether it's a 10 or 5km egg (just a higher chance of that mon possible).

I also think there is simply a lower percentage of some eggs so some mons are just simply more rare.

From my own hatches, 20% of my 10km eggs (excluding holiday baby 10km eggs picked up) were Lapras and about 13% were Chansey. I only pick up eggs from a few stops and try to only get eggs when I am about to spin one of these stops that I believe gave me a Lapras/Dratini or Chansey.

I have never hatched a Snorlax though.

Rather than pokestop relation, it could also be a Biome relation so perhaps a whole area are more likely to hatch certain things...like I have caught 7 other Chanseys around my area.

My wife/kids pick eggs from all stops wherever they are and haven't hatched any Lapras yet, but have hatched Chansey.

Same. I've hatched 8 chansey from the same museum stop.

No Kabuto after 1200 eggs, then a nest came and I got 3 in a week and a half.

Zero omanyte in area and I've never hatched one.

Snorlax are common here and hatched at least 6

Never hatched magnemite/voltorb/pikachu after 300 eggs from lake, switched to city square and immediately got them.

I could go on and on about eggs. I originally made an acct on this site to make a post about it months ago.

I do agree some pokestops are more likely to give you certain pokemons.
For example, I got identified one pokestop that almost always give me water pokemon (not comon in my area), and also I've got 2 of my Lapras and Snorlax frome there. The bad side is that is hard to get 10k from there.
If I pick up eggs randomly I usually ended up with Nidorans, Ponytas, Paras, etc.

It can't be pure RNG, that are too many reports showing the opposite

They just posted a data gathering breakdown on this over on Reddit Silph Road. In short, yes, some hatches are more rare (eg. Snorlax, Lapras, Dratini, Aerodactyl, Grimer..)

It's really hard to say when your dealing with RNG. I went over 700 eggs without hatching a single Snorlax, then hatched 5 within my next 300, at 1124 now and still not a single Lapras. It's just dumb luck in my mind now.... People complain about Porygon, got 3, people complain about Chansey, got 4. I had theories, debunked most of them. If there is a true probability proven by someone who has collected a ton of data, I wouldn't argue, but I've came full circle to it's all dumb luck.
