Rare candy Dillemma

Who and what purpose to use it on, kind of spoiled for choice:

1. Max Heatran 98% (I only need 70 ish as I'm still getting candy from raid catches)
2. Max Entei 100% (will need just over 200)
3. Max Mewtwo 96% with Shadow Ball (will need 248 as it's level 20) (Note I already have 3X maxed 98% shadow ball mewtwo)
4. Give all my Shadow ball mewtwos a new move for PVP (need 300)
5. Give 98% Latios Solar beam for PVP (need 100)

EDIT:

Or actually also
6 and 7: Dump the candy into Kyogre/Groudon in anticipation of a return?

My opinion: give Latios Solar Beam and give 1 Mewtwo the extra move...beyond that I’d wait for Heatran...you didn’t mention stardust but I always start out thinking that 500k+ isn’t just a drop in the bucket.

I say Latios with Solar Beam bc I just always assume someone will have a Kyogre, can’t count on a 2nd move Groudon neutralizing that threat. Guess question would be what 2nd move to give Mewtwo...electric or ice?

I agree.

Also remember that you can give two of your maxed Mewtwo second moves for less candy and dust than it would take to max out the level 20 (200,000 dust and 200 candies for two second moves vs 225,000 and 248 candies to max one). So I would take that one out of the running altogether.

The question of electric or ice for the second move is a tough one. I guess it depends on what would help round out your teams the most. Both are excellent moves.

Edit: If you have the resources, you could give all three Mewtwo second moves to cover ice, electric, and fighting. That's what I did on my top three maxed ones with no regrets at all. I did burn through a lot of charge TMs doing it, though. So be wary of that.

Here the second charge move isn't really comparable to another Mewtwo, they contribute to totally different things. But if they have any non-maxed SC/Lick Gengars, I'd for sure invest in those before making more SB Mewtwos.

I would not invest in Heatran or Entei, fire attackers are relatively useless at the moment and Heatran could get a raid day that gives it a better PvE moveset.

The 4th Mewtwo depends on how well do you want to do against the Lake trio raids and how many Gengars you already have. If your current team would be 3 maxed Gengars and 3 maxed SB Mewtwos, the 4th one doesn't contribute much.

I think the PvP investment is the one where you get the most value, as long as your area has people interested in the higher leagues.

My most recent investment was about 70 RC into a Cresselia for great league to unlock the second move and now I'm saving up in case I score a Lugia for great league as well.

First off, forget the heatran and entei if you have moltres, moltres is much better as a DPS fire attacker, heatran only bests it TDO, but in PvP, vulnerable to the earthquake metagross.

I'd say go for the latios next, from what ive heard mewtwo with 2 moves is good, but not as much as they hype made it out to be, given the shielding disadvantage of 1 bars and the prevalence of tyranitar with bite/crunch. If mewtwo V tyranitar, and the Tyrantiar's got crunch and its equal shields, mewtwo's gonna bite it. Latios however can pack dragon claw/dragon breath one of the most deviating PvP combos (though in my opinion, Giratina's better at this because bulkier) and solar beam provides good kyogre counter, though kyogre may carry blizzard.

For Master League legacy Dragonite bests Latios with its extra bulk and has better typing as the odds of running into an Ice attacker (which is bad for Latios anyway) are pretty low compared to a TTar or Groudon.

Giratina is better overall than Dragonite but may perform worse against Groudon if shields have already been used and is eaten up by TTar.

I will note that I rank TTar pretty high in Master League as it eats through a lot of common picks: Giratina, Lugia, Latios, Mewtwo, Metagross. It performs well against Groudon and Kyogre (if shields are available). Better against Groudon, which is good because Kyogre is pretty underwhelming and much less likely to appear. Best lead mon IMO.

1. I personally wouldn't dump any rare candy into Heatran, since it is our current legendary raid boss (and you have the chance to accrue more candy still before it leaves).

2. I would justify Entei as a trophy Mon (perfect legendaries are pretty dam cool), but it's outclassed in the fire-type DPS department and is fairly underwhelming in PvP. If you have a good Moltres already, then you can probably skip over Entei.

3. Unless you're aiming for a maxed out SB Mewtwo death-squad, I probably wouldn't max out a fourth. Three should be plenty for just about any encounter where it's a top-pick.

4. If you like PvP and battling gyms, then I would suggest unlocking a second move for one Mewtwo (not sure it's worth it to do all three). This won't help you much in raids, but it makes Mewtwo a very strong versatile attacker in both PvP and gym battles.

5. Lower priority than #4, imo, but again, only an investment I would recommend if you like PvP.

6/7. I would hold off on Groudon right now, as people are anticipating a return, and you can snag more candy then. Kyogre may be less likely to return as soon, since it already had its return run, but it also isn't really needed right now in raids and it's not amazing in PvP.

My personal vote: unlock another move on one of your Mewtwo! I'd suggest focus blast, but ice beam and/or thunderbolt are also good options.

Buying legendary moves for PvP is an "elite/avid" flavor of the season...Niantic seems to be interested in allowing players to solo tier 4s (an EX/tier 5 even). Somebody good (that likes to make fast vids) who just ignores PvP will have a considerable legup on PvP players (that like to make videos). He might be thinking about another Kyogre for raids but lacks a candidate or he just wants to wait for exclusive move Kyogre...if it never comes then he could always just buy the 2nd charge move for Kyogre.
