Raikou raid glitch

My town finally had our first Raikou pop up, then just as we were about to begin the battle, most of us suddenly started glitching. Instead of showing the Raikou above the gym, it was just showing a glowing star, and wouldn't let us into the gym. Everyone who could install the update that just appeared did, but that only fixed it for some of us. Is anyone else having this problem, and is there something else we can try to fix it?

delete cache and other data from your cellphone in settings for pokemon go, you will need to put log in details and again and give permissions but will solve it

That happened to a few people at the first Raikou raid this morning. Including me. I uninstalled then reinstalled the game and didn't have any more problems but others weren't so lucky. I didn't hear of anybody else having that problem at the other 2 Raikou raids I did today though

Well, we ended up just fighting it with anyone who could get in, so a few people were left out, and a few people ended up wasting raid passes, then not getting to actually fight. We also ended up wasting about an hour trying to get it to work, but oh well.

Fortunately, there was another Raikou nearby that we went to next, and I think it worked for everyone by that point.
