Raids tied to daytime cycle

I'm not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but has anyone else noticed that raids seem to ending each day earlier and earlier as the days get shorter? The game's night and day cycles match up fairly well with actual sunrise and sunset, and the last raid eggs of the day seem to be timed so they hatch about when the game switches to night.

This might not be something anyone can answer, but I'm wondering how much that trend might continue as days keep getting shorter. In December, sunset is at like 4:30 where I live, so that's going to make it pretty tough to do raids at all if they only appear during daylight hours. Or am I just imagining things? When raids first started, I think they were going until close to 10:00, but now the last ones of the day are ending around 8:30.

I have noticed the opposite...but I am in the southern hemisphere.

The raids are finishing earlier and earlier and the days are getting longer and longer.
If this keeps up, in a couple of weeks when we hit daylight savings, we are going to have about 2-3 hours of daylight without any raids at all.

EDIT Then again, Niantic have not been good with timezones - here our daily spin/first catch of the day, and gym rewards reset at 12:30am, and not at midnight because Niantic appear to think that South Australia has the same timezone as Victoria and New South Wales.

Can you imagine the outcry if, for the first 12 months+ of the games existence they completely disregarded an entire time zone in America, leaving some regions using a timezone from thousands of km's away?

Huh, I assumed the southern hemisphere would be the reverse, and almost asked if raids there were ending later and later each day. Apparently they don't localize the timers for different regions.

They can't even get the time zones right here.

Niantic are completely oblivious to the existence of the Australian Central Daylight Time zone.

EDIT After my ramblings, I will get back on topic. I hope they get better with the timezones and raid timers. I did have a similar thought a couple of days ago, but from my perspective.
I was hoping that raids can go until around 9:30-10pm here at the height of summer.
The sun will set around 9:30 mid summer, it will be VERY warm and people will still be enjoiyng the long evenings much later.
It would be a waste if the raids keep finishing up while there is still daylight and lots of people are out and about - it would be a loss for the company and for the players.

I've always found it fascinating that your summer months are our winter months... I guess Niantic has disregarded that (or they're oblivious). You may need to write customer service and enlighten them!

When we did a Tyranitar raid today, the game had turned to nighttime. There was about 15 minutes left on the timer.

You're right, they end about 8:30 now (EDT) and it's getting earlier every day. They're not even compensating by having more raids earlier.... there were none between 5:30 and 7:30 in 8 gyms I observed. I could barely get one raid done (t2 - got only potions/revives)....

Days are getting shorter, but raids still happens until same times.
Yesterday I did a raid at 9pm, it was dark already...

We have rather extreme differences up here. Two months of midnight sun in June/July. Now about 12h each of day and night, and two month without sun in December/January.

But we have seen very small differences so far (Egg start around 6AM and last raid finish between 8-9 PM. So it is certainly not tied to the daylight cycle in the game!
