Raids prior to EX Raid
Question, my coworker got an EX Raid pass from a gym.
The raid is schedualed to be this coming Friday.
We both know where the raid will be held.
I did a bit of research and it states that you need to do a raid battle in that gym to get an invite. I have been in this location all morning and now 2:30 PM my time and see no raids.. do the raids stop?

To try and get a raid pass there, wait until the EX raid is over, and then try to do 1-2 raids at that gym every week, even if they are low tier raids. With persistence, you'll get an EX raid pass, unless you're in a dense urban area, in which case you're competing for a few raid passes with a huge number of raiders.
