Raids and Day Light Savings

For players in America,
It seems that raids are ending earlier after we turned our clocks back to standard time as if Niantic didn't adjust to the time change. Raids already seemed to end too early and now it is just even worse. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, and it's a bad non-adjustment. No one is raiding at 6AM and 6:45PM is too early of an end time for a lot of people. That plus the truncation of raid times has made this new rollout pretty awful.

Yeah, the last raids of the day end about 7:30 now. I was expecting that to happen, but at least that's probably as far as it's going to go. I asked the same thing at the end of summer, the first time they shifted raids to end earlier, because I was worried that if raids were timed to happen only during daylight, they could end ridiculously early in winter. So it's not as bad as it could have been, but there are still some people around here who get off work at 7:00 who are annoyed about it.

Yeah. I don’t mind early morning raids and in our area quite a few people raid between 7-9am after dropping off kids and before work. The problem is raid ending 7.30, pretty much cut off a lot of players play time.

I get home on an average weekday around 6pm, but unless something spawns really close to home (there are four gyms within sight of my house) I normally don't have the ability to play until closer to 7pm, which doesn't obviously leave me with alot of options. Even before the time changes, things were a bit tight but the additional hour was usually enough to be able to get to a legendary raid or two.

In Hong Kong, the last is about 8:25 because the decrease the raid time. S_it!! I think the raid is starting and close too early. Many of us are still working or just leave the working place. I think the last raid should end before 10 pm.

They try to avoid anything at night because remember when people would get robbed and beaten up when it got dark? Thieves and thugs would set up a bunch of lures and then jump distracted trainers and steal their very expensive phones. Trainers are sitting ducks looking down at their phones. We were their pokemons.

While safety is a concern, we're not talking about extending raids into the dead of night. 9 - 10pm would be more than acceptable, and certainly in my town there is still plenty of activity at that hour. The very nature of raids, particularly legendary ones, attracts crowds of people so there's safety in numbers as well.

You obviously do not live in NYC where the parks close down at 6p for this very reason. Niantic clearly doesn't want to have blood on their hands enticing trainers to jump the fence to get into a park after dark, or after it closes, or wander innocently to a heavily lured area where an unsuspecting trainer would think others were grinding. Besides, the first one or two are the ones to get jumped, after that the thugs split and go do another "raid" of their own.

Here in the UK, we put our clocks back on Sunday 29th. Since then, when I get home from work at about 6pm I am lucky if I can find the last few minutes of a few raids. I emailed them and they told me nothing has changed. Oh well, they won't be getting my money for raid passes, will they!
