GamePress

So it's agreed on that level 2 raid can be soloed easily. Gamepress says you need 2-3 people to defeat level 3 raid, but what are your experiences? Have you managed to solo level 3 raid? Maybe you didn't do it even as a team of 2? Also, is there anyone who battled both Lapras and Tyranitar/Rhydon? I fought vs Lapras today and it so hard... We were trying with 5 people, where 2 were level 40 with great teams. We chose the best counters like Machamp, Ursaring, Jolteon, Exeggutor, Golem, Rhydon, Dragonite, Tyranitar - with different setups and we failed... We were pretty close, if we had a 6th person or if there were no lags we would do it, but... Anyways, since Lapras is a great defender and works well with the gym AI, will rhydon/Tyranitar be much easier? Like, can you do it with 2 people? They have an exploitable counters that resist their moves and neither of them is as tanky as Lapras, so technically it should be doable, but I am not sure... Any experience?

I haven't tried a lv3.

I did go to the center of town when a lv 4 showed up. It hatched, Snorlax popped and I was hype....except that no one came. I waited at a level 3 one....hatched Machamp! Super rare here, it never spawns and I would like one as much or more than any other mon. Waited 5 minutes, no one showed.

I live in an affluent town of 50K in the limits, probably pushes 80K in the immediate area.

If there aren't going to be notifications of some kind this isn't going to work here, sadly.

I'm not giving up though. Maybe traffic will pick up or something or I dunno. Something

I battled rhydon and we did it quite easily with 5 people. However some showed up last and tried again with 4 and couldn't do it. All were decent levels (34-37) and they came very close but always timed out

I battled a tyranitar earlier with 3 other players and we got wrecked. I showed up with 5 mins to spare since I was stuck at work, but I heard the group before us had around 7 and it took them several tries.

Battle against lapras we were 7 on first try and failed we timed out. I tried 3 more times with no luck...

Against lapras you need hard attackers... i was using jolteons but the others was using more bulkiest mon

Did he have split move types? If he has same type moves then you can use some great attackers.

We did a lapras raid with a total of 8 people, I think we still have 80 seconds left when it is over. Maybe your group are not picking the right attackers or the attackers are not powered up? It seems to me 7 people should be more than enough assuming all are level 30+

I did LVL4 snorlax raid 3 people. Cant kill it with 3. %20-30 hp left.
I did lvl 3 raids with my wife. Totally doable. Just hard with this laggy gyms atm.

Level 1-2 easy can be done solo. Level 3 Machamp I could not do it myself was close, 2 people came and it was easy. Did another level 3 Machamp with myself and 1 other we beat easy ( I'm lvl 36, he 39). Also beat lvl 4 Tyranitar with 7 people easily and caught it after with Bite/SE 82%. Caught both Machamps 84% C/CC and 69% C/DP

I would recommend find a Facebook group to join where people post raids, I also joined a private raid group people post levels and form groups to meet for higher levels.

Tried a lvl 3 Arcanine multiple times. It was frustrating, it used crunch nonstop, with the lag and glitch combo it was impossible on some runs and I would restart. On two smooth runs I got him down to about 5 percent health and ran out of time.

So Arcanine IS doable solo with a high lvl squad and a smooth connection. I just didn't manage to get it...this time. Will be powering up some counters a bit more for lvl 3 raids shortly.

Was using a couple of 3200+ dragonites, 2600-2900 Vapes, a 2900 Gary, a 2800 rhydon. A few other randoms. Was not prepared.

I've had a dedicated attack team of 6 for a long while. I'll be ditching that in favor of making dedicated lvl 3 attack teams, glad I've been saving dust:)

Lvl 3 Arcanine - solo with 4 lvl 38.5 mons, top counters: 2 golems, 1 rhydon, 1 vape, 1 second left. My kid did it in fact, longer version a few questions below.

Lvl 3 jolteon - FAIL- a lot of tries, not even close, needing like 60 more seconds. But used some lvl 30 mons then. And I don't have strong ground only combos neither on rhydon nor golem.

Jolteon hits really hard. I tried to solo one of these with Donphan, Rhydon, and Golem all with Ground movesets, and I didn't really get close.

I was trying tyranitar with 3 people (1 noob) and 50% hp left. I think 4-5 people can do it.

I did my first raid today and it was a lvl 3. I did it solo and got my arse kicked really bad. I managed to lower the Alakazams health by perhaps 20%.

That said, I was hardly perfect in my dodging and attacks and as I rarely power up my Pokemon (apart from a Blissey that I power up twice to about 1900 CP), my Pokemons were hardly the strongest.

Also, I wasn't quite sure which Pokemons to use (can't remember fighting an Alakazam before) I read a list of good Pokemons to use on another site and the ones I ended up picking didn't seem to work that well, so I got a bit screwed over by that site.

Maybe if I power up some Pokemons and pick the right ones against a lvl 3 raid boss I'll do a bit better.

Didn't have a chance to try Tyrannitar, but I did a Lapras level 4 raid today. We managed to beat it on the 3rd try with a team of 5 trainers from level 30 to 36. It was so close.

I used Jolteons to start that got beaten pretty fast, and followed up with some hyper beam snorlaxes. On the run we won on, we tried hard to use effective damage.

I tried two level 3 raids by myself today. I started off getting my butt handed to me, but I came up with a strategy that paid off in the end.

No dodging, just spam attack with Super Effective the first 6. Then after all your 6 are fainted, come back with the best you got.

Dodging takes way too much time away.

So yes, level 3 possible with only 1 attacker!

Machamp was the second boss that I was able to take down after honing in my strategy.

Wait, so you can add more attackers after your first six faint? I was only dodging level 3 Flareon's Overheat when I timed out, but it would surely have helped to not dodge at all.

Yes... If there is still time left on the clock you can refill. It actually tells you to pick a new squad or heal. No time to heal.

I have finished 5 raids today, lvl 1 and 2 solo. Next lvl 3 twice with a friend, we wrecked vaporeons two times. Next one was lvl 2 again (exeggutor). The last one we tried was tyranitar. Some kid joined us before fight, he told us that he was trying a lvl 2 raid against weezing solo and he couldn't do it. I told him to bring as may vaporeons as he has and he answered that he has only one so this guy wasn't very helpful at all. Tyranitar survived with 50% hp. My friend and I were using only water attackers and we weren't dodging (lvl 29 and 33).

I tried a level 3 Flareon solo and just barely timed out; it was down in the yellow with 10-15% health left. I was using the Vape army with wg/hp and wg just doesn't have enough dps. I switched out to a Gary with bite/hp with about 40 secs remaining and it seemed to do better, charged the hp faster for sure. I'm pretty sure I could have taken it down if I had 6 Gary's (I don't).

After that, itching for a win, I soloed a level 1 Magikarp (lol). It only had cp1159, and I took it out with one Eggy solar beam. Somewhat anticlimactic and took under 10 secs, just long enough to charge the solar beam. I was surprised to lose 8 hp on the Eggy since I thought splash had 0 dps. I did catch the bonus Karp on the second throw (gave me 11 chances).

I am level 37. Just tried to solo an Alakazam (C/FS) with FC/XC Scizor, B/FB Tyranitar, and B/C Gyarados, along with some Dragonites. ALMOST did it but just barely timed out. If I hadn't put my SC/Sludge Bomb Gengar in a gym, I think I might have been able to do it....

Also tried to solo a VS/T Jolteon and didn't even get close.

Mine was vs/discharge :); but I wiil give another try next days if I'll end up alone into one, with max out DPSs like gengar and ala.

If that info is correct, there is no problem that I don't have strong double ground moves.

Good call, Rhydon is just too slow even with double SE. I may power up an Alakazam just to handle neutral raid boss targets.

I'm wonder I did battle Lapras boss lv 4 alone and I did cut almost 1/3 her HP so if I have 3 more team mate, we will win ??
