Raid locations

I live in a very rural area. Its unsurprising that the big city nerds worked it out. That being said for this kind of cooperative game play there should be a far better message system. You need more than 5 people to take down level 4 raids. Its absolutely crazy that there's not a team alert system in game. Maybe not full on chat, that could get out of hand. You should be able to send alerts in game to online players about raids though. Push notifications might be nice but that may be pushing it.
I am sorry and sad at the same time but I have to say I will try to find and use a third party app, not to find the raid itself, but to see how many players are inside (I think it is/will be posible), it is the only way I have in a town without almost no players to try to get a level 4 raid someday and either you like it or not those third app's know better what players want and need that Niantic themselves...
And this is all Niantic's fault, don't letting me seeing who is inside the lobby BEFORE spending my raid pass is forcing me to find external apps in order to have a chance (still pretty small but a chance that they have not give me after all).
No way I will spend premium raid passes if I don't have at least a chance of seeing if other players are inside and the oportunity of winning the raid, it is my money and I won't just trow it away for nothing.
This is the biggest design flaw and the most greedy and stupid measure I have seen in a game. It has cost me 2 premium passes on the first day, not anymore.
I never used trackers , even with being in a poor place pogo wise , but currently I have no way to find where a raid is ( so far zero raids ) I had an earlier post ( before update ) hoping that scan radius to be 10 km , but niantic is working in a bubble and only looking at san Francisco streets
I would like to know a solution to have access to the same feature every one has
