Quick move on Lugia for Mewtwo raids

Hey, I was just wondering why Extrasensory and Dragon Tail are both deemed acceptable quick moves in Mewtwo raids on this site when DT has superior "true DPS" (which I believe takes into account its lack of STAB) and also isn't resisted by Mewtwo? DT seems the clear winner to me, but it's possible (/probable) that I've missed something...

You won't be using quick move very much the idea with Lugia is to take the hits and not dodge which increases your Sky Attack moves. Because Mewtwo attack is so high you will be throwing off Sky Attack more than your quick move.

I think the focus is to charge up sky attack, as with that attack stat and lack of stab (or the resist) mean that you don't do much damage with either quick move anyway.

IIRC extrasensory charges energy quite fast, not sure if faster than dragon tail.

doesn't matter. mewtwo is laughably the easiest raid tier4+ boss to beat. Bring your highest DPS pokemon and hope for a +1 damage bonus premiere ball.

thanks for the heads up, i'm going to my first one soon :)

Entei was laughably easy, was routinely knocking that thing out with 3 other players. Guess they gotta make sure every noob catches the legendaries ;)

DPS isn't the only factor in what makes a move strong, energy gain should also be taken into consideration, as your average DPS comes from a combination of your quick and charge moves.

Extrasensory has higher energy gain, being able to use your charge move more often counteracts the lower DPS.

Dragon Tail is better but only slightly. Extrasensory is close enough that it is acceptable.
