Question with a story
Did anyone else feel like they made it as a raid attacker the first time a lower level piggybacked off you for a raid?
A Magmar popped up this morning on my way to work and I usually do lvl 2 raids if I can since I won't have time to do another today. As I am in the lobby a lvl 22 player joins me with a fairly awful team. I used my 2690 Golem and 2980 Vape. They used a Kingler, an Azurmarill, and an Octillery. I was like wow, someone used me for this raid.....I am now in. Lol. As a side note, this is the first raid I have done with another person ever. Kind of underwhelming right??

Only once. I was on vacation and did an Electabuzz just to use up my daily raid pass. The other player was a young kid around 6 or 7 who admitted he couldn't do it himself. He was also amazed at my virtually complete Pokedex, which gave me a bit of an ego boost as well.
Apart from that, I've helped out a few people with raids that asked for assistance ahead of time that I wouldn't have normally done otherwise.
While I don't feel like I've "Made it as a raid attacker..." I do enjoy contributing to the Pokemon Community when/if I can. After all, isn't collaborative play supposed to be a pillar of the game?
Even back in the day there were occasions when I'd pay-it-forward by prestiguing a gym higher than needed to make room for another team member.
For better or worse there have definitely been some feel-good moments over the last year or so. Weakening a gym so that a kid (Level 9 Trainer) could not only defeat the gym (their first time) but add their own defender, a 200-something pidgeotto, is at the top.
I was in this situation the first time I attempted to solo Machamp. Someone jumped in with about 30 seconds left and I backed out to start a private group(which I didn't think about doing initially because I've never seen anyone else raid at this small park). I was determined to fight it by myself after the investment I'd just made in my top two Alakazams and best Espeon, but when I succeeded I felt kinda guilty. I've gone so far as to get my group to back out of Legendary Raids to let a youngster join in before, so I felt like a dick after purposely evading another would-be raider. I hope it wasn't a little kid...don't remember seeing any around or I probably would've put off my solo attempt.
