Question on Magmar

I caught 46 of them in the last two days. Any magmar worths powering up at all ? Tks.

Not really...Arcanine, Flareon and Charizard are all better. Karate Chop makes Magmar somekind of different from other fire types but fighting is weak as we all know.

not worth powering up imo but you can always use them as throw away attackers for prestiging or taking down gyms. I do that with a lot of pokemon to save potions and revives-- works relatively well with magmars providing you're attacking pokemon weak to its moveset.

Yes not awful for prestiging against Snorlax

It's a pity sitting with +600 candies !

What I am doing is saving the candies and waiting for gen 4 to be released (if ever) for magmar's evolution Magmortar. By that time I will have found a better iv magmar (i'm imagining this will take a couple of years, based on Niantic's prolonged release of gen 2)

it has barely been six months since the game's release. Honestly I don't expect the whole lot of gen 2 to be releaased for another 6 months. If its any earlier than that, well that's just a bonus.Yea, I hate waiting too. Better start catching gen 1 stuff before everything becomes a pidgey/rattata counterpart.
