What level are you by the way? I suggest not to power up yet. Just save your candies and stardust as of the moment and later on you may get those with better CP, IV, and move set once you reach level 20 and above on an average but in my case personally even at level 20's I haven't had the luck to get good Pokémon's not until I reach level 27+. Now I'm at level 29 and does have great Pokémon's already. Just be patient and continue to work hard. Been there already bro, I have wasted tons of stardust and candies even before I reach level 20 haha

A question about my slowbro
Hi guys, I'm a starter pokemon GO player and this afternoon I evolved my slowpoke with IVs 89% into a slowbro with 880 CP and its moveset is: confusion and hidro pulse. I read in this website that the best moveset for defend a gym is confusion and psychic. What do you think? Do you recommend me to power it up?

The only moveset that's worth something with slowbro, in my opinion, is confusion/psychic. It covers all his weaknesses and makes him the good defender he really is. I believe that's why he's ranked so high on this website. Otherwise, his CP is too low to be of much use, and is really just a watered down vaporean.
Im using slowbro with confusion + ice beam.
Because psychic slowbro's weakness is exeggutor.
Exeggutor will resist all your slowbros moves and also punish you with super effective grass charge move.
But ice beam will do more dmg vs exeggutor, also ice beam will do more dmg vs dragonites, because dragonite has douple weakness for ice.
Sure ice beam wont be effective vs laprases and vaporeons, but neither will their attacks be effective against slowbro, also they get enough punishment from confusion.
