Question about cp.

I have been hearing that the lower the cp of a Pokemon the less motivation it loses as time and fights go on.
If that's true then will strong defenders with lower cp be the new desireables? Such as miltank, cloyster, wigglytuff, hypno, umbreon etc?

I too have heard that, it would be nice to have a reward/benefit/advantage to offset using a mon with lower CP

We don't know for sure yet if the lower CP pokemon will be the new desirables or not, but what you heard is right. Niantic has said stronger pokemon will generally lose motivation quicker than lower CP pokemon to help balance different strengths and abilities
