proposal for gym rewards
With the current system, it seems best to place some random >3000 mons and hope they come back after some hours...
What's the point of putting in strong mons and finding secret stable gyms in the woods? There's no reward for it.
But I think there is an easy fix:
1. Let mons earn the rewards continuously, not when they come home. This can be capped at 100 coins per day.
2. Diminishing returns. Maybe 5 coins in the first hour and then steadily dropping to 5 coins per day.
This would instantly bring back the fun of "defending your turf".
What do you think?

The gym system needs to maintain all incentives we had before:
1) to place a Pokémon for a longer time in a gym
2) to power up and select high IV Pokémon for gym advantage
3) to fight gyms
The previous system incentives gravitated to the use of too few and too strong Pokémon, gym stagnation and gyms being inaccessible for lower level players.
So after 1 day it looks like the changes generally improved the situation a lot, except:
1) gyms stagnate again because they are hard to take with 5 battles per Pokémon (but now 3 - could be ok)
2) the incentive to keep Pokémon in a gym is totally reversed at the moment. I am begging to have them kicked out one per day as there is no more reward after 8 hours.
3) No longer sure that powering up for a gym is desirable - you will create prisoners.
I think your suggestions are good. But we should earn something also by fighting a gym, like stardust or coins and also cap it per day.
