Just wanna ask if you guys were training the gym, do you aim for 1k max prestige for each pokemon defeated or just go for average 2k and gained around 700 to 900 each. For me because it take time to select proper team for prestiging i tend to go for former because i value the time i manage to be in the gym battle itself, not my time wasted on selecting pokemons. meaning i choose the average 2ks that can beat all 8 to 9 pokemons in one shot. what are your thoughts?

been thinking to power up several laprases as prestigers as i managed to haul almost 400 candies in this event.

however if there is blissey in gym i will straight line up my best machamps and deal with it. too bad my machamps is at 2470cp and 2246cp each.. so i tend to adjust my team to compensate my prestige team cp according to machamps 2470 when against blissey.

Depends on what I'm facing, tend to aim for the 1k per defender mostly for time and rotating teams. I only have about 250 mon I hang onto so scrolling isn't bad if you use the side bar.

Blissey is different though, I just match up whatever fighting type attackers I have to deal with her accordingly, usually about 600-1000 CP below where she is just because half CP can't always kill her in time.

400 Lapras candy? That's crazy. Didn't see a single Lapras all event long.

Yeah, I thought: "what the hell of a hardcore player is that :D"

I saw one but I cannot even say whether that was due the event or not because there already spawned one way back in the past.

How many Magikarp candies did you grind then? o.o I managed to catch at least 80 Mk (maybe 90-100) but no shiny yet...

lol, i am extremely lucky with shiny karp hunts. was sitting at around 500ish karp candies during i start to hunt shiny karp. managed to get 1 after i hit around 800 karp candies.. so thats not really lot of effort, considering karp is really common in this event. after that i evaluate which mon is most valuable to grind candies with.. and i conclude it is lapras. i pinaped each of lapras encounter and was sitting around 200 candies before the event. lucky to hatch three laprases during valentine events.

I am at 1450 Magikarp Candies (~1000 before the event started). But I'm sure that isn't that much in comparison.

I almost use the same roaster all the time:

Wigglytuff 1100cp P/PR
Vaporeon 1150cp WG/HP
Dewgong 1240cp IS/B
Exeggutor 1290cp ZH/SoB
Jolteon 1265cp TS/TB
Tangela 1244cp VW/SoB

I can make some adjustments if needed (like another Wiggly with P/PR or more water mons if there is a lot of Rhydons for example) but this is pretty much the mons I use when it comes to prestiging.

I will probably give a try to my Furret with QA/HB next time to see how he performs.

i should rename my prestiger like my used to be bubblestrat attacker then. have one wiggly but it is already 1.6k cp. lol.

how many pokemon you manage to defeat with this roster?

At least 1 defender per attacker on average. It really depends on many things, who I am facing, if it's laggy or not, dodge not registered sometimes...

Now I prestige the exact XP needed and place my mon. I know it's sad but I used to be a smart team player and got sniped so many times. If Niantic finds something to "fix" it, I'd be glad to prestige like I used to do before.

I go for the full K per mon, but lately I only fight the bottom 2 or 3. Get the 2 or 3 K then quit, and come back in. I've been having SERIOUS trouble with dodging, and lately the drop rate of revives seems to be low. I'd rather not waste a ton of revives trying to prestige all the mons in a single gym.
If I can take out the bottom 2 or 3 and only lose 1 while doing it, I can go at it multiple times.

Rename your prestige mons. Put a ! in front of the name, and change the name to what type of mon you want to use them against. Then, when you want to prestige, just sort your list by name, and they will be at the top.
Example:
My 2 double ice cloisters are called !Drag When I sort by name, they are the first 2 in my list.
My Wiggly's are called !GyLapSnor because I can use them in a combination gym of Gyro, Lapras, and Snorlax.

I go for 950-1000 per pokemon, depending on where in that range I can find my best prestigers for the job. I don't like going under half the CP of the first pokemon, so I get the full 1000 less than half the time. I usually rename the pokemon that I'm going to use by putting a 1 in front of their name to make them easy to select and heal.

I've never been able to consistently pull off the "half CP" thing. I'm working on it, but in the meantime, if it's not a very strong gym (esp no Blissey or Snorlax) I will go with about 2/3 CP of the defenders and that gets me through a lot of the defenders but still with several thousand prestige points most of the time.

I always aim for 1000 prestige points. I have a Heracross and Machamp around 1500-1600 CP each to prestige against Blissey

I decide how far up the gym I want to go based on my ability to work effective type counters and the CP spread of the gym. Usually, I choose not to face Blissey or Snorlax. I aim for close to the full 1000 on the highest poke or 2 and just go for 500 an the bottom, if possible.
Every gym is different. If I am prestiging a long way, I sometimes have to try a couple strategies.
