Power up sceptile or evolve treecko (or neither)?

Not exactly the most meta-relevant scenario, but i have a sceptile at 1716 CP, 82 IV with Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade.

I also have a 98IV treecko at 628CP that could be evolved. I have 48 candies.

My current best Grass-attacker is an Exeggutor with Bullet-Seed and Solar Beam. Should i leave the sceptile as is, power it up, or evolve that treecko?

I'd say save that trecko for whenever frenzy plant's released for it, thats one of the best iv trecko you'll ever get, and leave the sceptile as is for now. Power up sceptile as/if you need it. Theres a few grass attackers in gen 4, and on a side note electric and water types do the same roles grass types but better(aside from a few scenarios, most notable in clear weather or agaisnt water/rock or water/ground dual types)

I'm seriously jealous of that treecko, I got 6 good ones ready for it (had about a solid month where I hatched nothing but the hoenn starters, 8 torchic in a row at one point) but nothing's even close to that. Sceptile might actually tip things in grass' favor match ups wise when looking at nonlegendaries

Don't evolve that Treecko - it's likely going to get Frenzy Plant in its' Community Day in 2019, and Frenzy Plant is worth waiting for. I wouldn't suggest powering up that Sceptile either - save those Candies for a Community Day mishap. (like, say, you're not able to play during Community Day for whatever reason.) If you don't get many Treecko hatches or spawns and you really need a Grass Attacker, I'd put it as your Buddy until you have 125 candies. Then you would be guaranteed to get an awesome Sceptile on Treeko Community Day, even if you can't play.

In the meantime, I would suggest seeing if you can trade with someone for a good Grass Attacker if you absolutely need one right now. Otherwise, I'd wait on doing anything with either of those Pokémon.

i forgot completely about treecko cd, so i am considering saving the candies. if i need to rely on grass-type attackers, i could just use my exeggutor or evolve an eevee to leafeon come gen 4. thanks

This is an easy one don’t evolve your awesome Treecko till it’s Community Day..... not much of need for grass types now anyway.... If you really feel the need to bulk up your grass squad go catch some weather boosted Exeggcute or Shroomish

Power up the Sceptile as a Grass gym clearer - it's great in that role, and best IVs aren't critical for gym clearers.

Save the Treecko for it's community day, which we anticipate, with current trends, will happen in March of 2019, not that far off. Evolve it then, and get Frenzy Plant for it.
