Power-up Questions + Heracross/Corsola Question
I am in no need of defenders; I live a very rural area with access to 5 gyms that have been predominantly in my team's control since I have discovered them. However, once in a while I drop down from the max 10 daily collect, and I figure I could benefit (although not necessary) from more gym defenders. I have what I believe to be a wide enough array of attackers; I am in no need of attackers either (imo). With this information, which of these, if any, would you power up [i'll provide the candy I have]? I already have my thoughts about each one but I want to see where I stand from the general vote.
Dragonite - 1739 - 100% - SW/HBI currently have two dragonites maxed at my level (one will be as soon as it gets kicked out of a gym), one with DB/DC and the other with DT/O. Both decent ivs (87 + 93). I know SW/HB is not a fantastic moveset, but is it worth powering up a perfect iv for the sake of gym placement? One concern I have is for the upcoming/future gym rework. If cp becomes something irrelevant (i.e. The mechanics change such that gym placement isn't ordered by cp), then this dragonite will be some poop. I have nearly 200 candies and i'm sitting on a 91% dratini, however if I don't decide to power this SW/HB up I may just wait until I find a higher IV dratini or power the 91% up.
Blissey - 2849 - 80% (15a/15d/6s) - P/HB Blissey - 1837 - 97% (15/15/14) - P/P Blissey - 1834 - 93% (15/15/12) - Z/HBI took advantage of the valentine's event and stocked up on chansey candies, I have 350+ at the moment (hatched 4 during the event!!) Originally, the 80% was around 26XX prior to powering it up some (1206 chansey?) The part that stings is the lack of the highest appraisal rating. However, even with a lack of 9 hp IVs, this bish will max out to 3145 (max is at 3173). I have some other chansey's in the 82-89% iv range have different ivs and pan out to 309X-313X range, and after factoring that in, i decided to power this one up initially. After a few power-ups, I reconsidered, and have yet to further power her up.
This is the species I would like some feedback about; as you can see, two of mine already have beautiful IVs and will sit higher (3170 and 3163, respectively). However, I don't know if the difference of 18-25 cp is worth powering one of these two beauties in favor of the 80%. P/HB is great for offense and will double as an attacker.
Would it be worth powering each of them up to have three solid defenders? or is it worth just focusing on two or one, or go for another re-roll? Ideally I would like a blissey with Dazzling Gleam and a high max cp, but I know that chansey candies are precious and once they're used up, there is no undoing that action.
Alakazam - 2629 - 93% (14/15/13?) - PC/SB Alakazam - 1632 - 91% (14/12/15) - PC/FSUntil I obtained the 1632 a couple of weeks ago, I had been powering up the 2629. Is it worth the difference in candies and start dust to start powering up the second? Would you continue to keep powering up the first, switch to the second, or power them both up (~140 candies)? Is the difference between SB and FS substantial enough to invest stardust and candies in?
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Is Miami a place where Heracross and Corsola would spawn? How frequent do Heracross and Corsola spawn, compared to the rates of regionals prior to the gen2 update? A friend has the opportunity to go to Miami and he's wondering if he'll encounter any-He'll be there for about 5(?) days?Thanks in advance!

1) I would suggest not powering up that 100iv Dragonite.
SW+HB is just literally the worst move set, both on offense and defense (And I evolved two with this, sign...). Also, an 84iv Tyranitar would surpass this Dragonite by CP. And as you said, a gym rework is coming and no one knows whether CP will continue to play an important role.
2) You should focus on just two. Maxing a Blissey from lv20 to lv39 needs ~200 candies, so you cannot afford both. My advice: max the Z/HB. Then evolve another Blissey hoping for DG. Should it succeed, power it up to at least lvl30.
3) I would suggest not powering up any Alakazam past lvl30 since you already have a Dragonite with DT/O, you don't need P/FS Alakazam (lower DPS and much lower bulk). Actually, you should only invest in Alakazam if you aim to build an all-rounded team.
Thanks for the reply-I don't think I will power up the 100% dragonite either; it's not worth the risk in case they change gym placement rules such that it is not by cp, then it would be significantly less useful.
As for Blissey, somebody else I have talked to had mentioned to power up the HB. I do not believe HB is the best defensive move. On offense, I would only like P/HB. On defense however, Hyper Beam is sooo easy to dodge that I reckon the majority of players (at least ones that dodge) are only taking a 1/4 of the damage. Psychic's dodge window and warning is much shorter, to the extent that I tend to eat the full damage of a psychic much more often when facing blissey compared to HB. For this reason, I would actually power up the 98% instead. But like you said, Dazzling Gleam > Psychic or Hyper Beam. What I think I may do at this point is just wait until I hatch another will closer IVs. I think the difference between a max blissey (3173) and the 80% I have (3145) is negligible, such that the moveset is favorable over the movesets and IVs of the other two options.
As for Alakazam, I am refraining from powering up either at least for the time being.
Answer to Heracross/Corsola question: Heracross isn't common at all. I've caught three since being in Miami (I've been here for four days so far). On the other hand I've managed to scoop around ten Corsola's and maybe three have run from me. Lucky for me I managed to get a 98% IV Heracross with C/CC, so I'm desperate to find more Heracross before I leave on saturday.
