Power up or wait?

Soo I'm looking over some of my moveset inventory and I seem to missing a good charizard moveset I have ember/fire blast and air slash/fire blast. I do not have Fire Spin Overheat. I do have a very nice flareon with Fire Spin/Overheat so is it necessary to try and get this same moveset on charizard? I have enough from this event to try it but idk if I should wait? Anyone have any advice?

I don't have that moveset either, but I am waiting. Like you, I have a Flareon with that moveset. Worse case scenario, that moveset goes away, but you still have a Flareon with that moveset, which is a better option anyways. I think it more comes down to if there is a moveset that you really DO NOT want.

Between my wa/ff Charizard, and my fs/dc Charizard, I am happy with my Charizard situation. If I want a better attacker I have my Flareons and Arcanines...even Ninetales with fs/o does well.

Yeah I agree o just never see charizard. It's kinda sad they should make him stronger than flareon honestly. That's why I'm worried he will be next patch

Pokemon's stats are based on the stats in the other games. Flareon has a total of 525 (the same as all the Eeveelutions,) while Charizard has a total of 534. So they are very comparable in terms of total power. What differs is their stat distribution, which impacts some pokemon more than others when put into Niantic's formula. You can see the comparisons here...

Charizard is a much more well-rounded pokemon, where as Flareon has an exceptional physical attack stat, and a high special defensive stat.

You can actually see all the cps for pokemon in future generations here...

Unless Niantic changes their formula, certain pokemon will not get "stronger" or "weaker." Niantic is not simply choosing to make one pokemon stronger because they are "cooler."

Just to give you an idea of how Niantic's forumla really screws some pokemon, look at Aegislash in Gen 6. Aegislash is a pokemon that can switch back and forth from shield to blade form.

The stats are identical, totaling 520. The difference is that the attack stats and the defensive stats swap spots in different forms. Here is what it does in terms of their total cp...
Shield form 1421 cp
Blade form 2350 cp

Kind of messed up how the same pokemon varies so greatly just from stat distribution, eh?
