Power up this Gengar after cp update?

I'd say yes. I also have some gengar that I'm now planning to power up (or at least 1 of them)...plus it's fun to play with Gengar...and Alakazam.

I think you should wait man. The meta just changed, and even though i don't thin that will change much, you never know. Wait before power up ANY pokemon.

No. so many better things to power up than a gengar. Yea shadow claw is nice but still, i would never power it up. His hp is pathetic.

Despite his new stats, I don't think Gengar will be worth investing in. His HP is too low to make for a good defender, nor is Ghost/Dark/Poison attackers going to see much use due to Psychic/Fairy/Grass being nerfed.

I have a 2127 CP Gengar with 87% IV and the same moveset, so I really hope I'm mistaken though ;)

I can't wait to see the tier list now. I was hoping for move buffs, didn't see this coming at all.

Gamepress has got a lot to do.

I've held off on Gengar for now and have focused on Gyarados, Rhydon (with Stone Edge), and Jolteon (replacing Victrabeel as my main water counter). I don't see any immediate role for Gengar in my lineup. He would be a great Eggy counter but Eggy has been nerfed and should be less prevalent in gyms. May also end up a good Alakazam counter.

I was caught this guy during halloween event. Checked his IV A12/H15/D15 , and evolved him to gengar and it came with ranked A moveset. Before CP balance, I was fully powered up this guy as maxed out(18xx) because I like to play with gengar. At the end of the day its just a game. You can not enjoy the game with the same moves and same pokemon. After this update I used this guy vs. 2 vapo (17xx, 22xx) and killed bot of them with approx. %20 hp left. dodged almost every single attack. Power this guy up! :)
