Potions Situation

How are you guys doing in regards potions out of curiosity? When i first started gym battling i used to be regularly discarding revives as id hardly ever use them what with power up revivals and changing pokes before they faint.

Nowadays since the last moveset change things have flipped, ive no revives and loads of potions. I am mainly putting this down to more powerful charge moves wiping my pokes before i can switch them out. Theres also moves like hydro pump for example which are a pain to dodge and those pesky body slam snorlaxes. It's good i guess since gyms are harder, but it's certainly much more resource intensive. Theres more pokestop farming required.

I find I'm still getting a lot of revives (currently have 74 regular and 60 max) and I do a lot of gym battles and prestiging. I could use more potions though. I find potions are my limiting factor.

I think there might be some variation based on trainer level as well. I recently hit 37 and I wouldnt say revives are rare in particular but agree gym resources in general are rarer and that gyms require even more resources than ever before.
On my way to work today I drove 3 loops around my pokestop farm, feeling more and more like an idiot each time I do this btw, and got very few potions and revives. I can hit about 25 stops per loop and it takes about 8 mins a rotation. I used to do 2 loops and be pretty stocked but now all I seem to get is balls and berries.

I try to adjust my strategy based on which items I have the most of, but I do tend to have fewer revives compared to potions lately. Much of that is because I get hit by the dodge glitch so often, I can almost never switch anything out in time anymore, so I have to spend a good chunk of my revives on pokemon that shouldn't have fainted.

I have more max potions than everything else combined, almost 300 of them, because I never really have anything that needs to be healed more than the 200 from a hyper potion.

I am low on both revives and potions. The dodge bug really depleted my stock. For the last couple days I have found myself wanting to take some gyms down, but I have been low on resources, even after a couple days of just trying to stock up. I'm not sure if the drop rate of potions/revives is a good or bad thing...I am low, but so is everyone else. The amount of gym activity has really dropped the last few days. If there were more potions, there would be more gym battles. I wish there was something battle related to do in the game that didn't require potions/revives.

I'm bleeding out slowly. I built up a huge stock of max potions while not battling, but they're depleting now as weather has improved. All non-max potions are immediately used to heal dead and wounded pokemon, of which I have dozens. I also cannot keep up with my revive consumption. I have 50-ish dead pokemon, but only 20 revives.

Meanwhile, I'm throwing away pokeballs every day.

In my 550 bag there's usually around a hundred max potions, 30 max revives and a varying number of regular ones and other potions. I keep the smaller stuff for prestigers and throw it out when stocking up on pokeballs.

My stock of both has gone back to acceptable levels now, and that is about 100 max potions and 20 hypers and a few regular and supers...

Also about 50 revives and 50 max revives...(1000 item bag).

Generally, I don't think they drop as much as they used to since I use to keep all my guys healed/revived, but now, I leave a lot of them unhealed unless they need to be off the bench.

I mainly keep my main attackers healed (for rival gyms) and training mons healed for prestiging.

I tend to use revives for prestiging since I don't want to get dodge bugged so let them faint normally.

Since I can always dodge, potions tend to be more rare so I tend to also let some about to die mon get blasted with a full Hydropump saving the next mon with full health.

I agree that gyms are mostly stagnant since potions maybe scarce for other people too, but I spin a pretty large amount daily on my route/errands so I'd guess even more casual players are having a rougher time.

I do prestige/attack gyms every day though so use some daily.

May be niantic can make a hospital or places of worship to pokestop taht give only revive and potion.

I just got a Go Plus about a m9nth ago and now I never run out of potions or revives. I am a moron for refusing the Go Plus for so long. I would also be at least 2 levels higher...

Singe I bought more item slots I haven't been trashing the 20hp potions anymore. I am pretty short on devices though. Lets get a revive event ?

i use to never worry about running out of potions/revives, so I would discard them left and right to open up bag space. Currently though, I have 0 hyper/super/regular potions and zero max potions as well as no max or regular revives. Not sure why… maybe I've been battling more now that the weather better? But yeah I guess I'm in a similar boat as you.

Niantic gives you what it thinks you don't need. If I keep an inventory of revives potions and pokeballs I will always keep getting them. Once in awhile I do some heavy gym battling and then potions become scarce and it will take a loooong time to heal everyone up
