Politoed or Poliwrath?

Which one would you all select? i have a king's Rock(already got 3 Slowkings) and have enough candy for one Full evolution for poliwag. So which one? and what is the best moveset for each?

Poliwrath is better, better typing, moveset and higher CP.

I saw that, i have 1 poliwrath with a legacy moveset.... I need to maybe reroll and try again on it.

Politoed, like many others, is a worse vaporeon. However, it is even worse than Blastoise, Feraligatr, Golduck, Starmie, maybe even Kingler.

Poliwrath derives some utility by excelling in the Tyranitar matchup. But is still worse than Vaporeon even at that matchup.

I have to differ in your opinion in that matter. Altough Vaporeon is a better pokemon no doubt. Poliwrath can hit tyra with Double super effective + stab moves with fighting and Poli resists every single move on tyra's arsenal due fighting typing (Rock + dark) and water (steel + fire).

If you take a look at the chart on this page that lists out all the counters to the Trex (besting the 'big 7 defenders'), Poliwrath is to the lower right of Vaporeon, which means it is strictly inferior (both less survivable and slower to kill). They are very, very close though, so poliwrath is still quite good.

For personal experience I take out the same amount of Tyranitar per vaporeon/poliwrath (two), but because rock smash dynamic punch is way harder to dodge with, compared to water gun hydro pump, I still tend to prefer vaporeon.

I guess it comes down to what you are looking for. Politode is a pure water, so it wont have that weakness to psychic. That being said, I don't see it having any use until after the gym rework, in which case it might be an interesting defender with bubble.
