Pokémon you encounter should attack you:

Would make the game so much more difficult and realistic rather than here I am. Wild encountered Pokémon should have the ability to do damage. This game sucks balls!

They do attack and jump. The player character doesn't have any HP though, so I don't know how you'd expect damage to player to work.

They have a game called Pokemon Sun and Moon for the 3DS, you should look into that...but the pokemon are actually EASIER to catch on those games...most of them can be caught just by throwing a quick ball, even the legendaries can be caught with quick balls if you are lucky.
