Matters only for magikarp and rattatta, to get the respective medals.
In the original games size is not important, weight on the contrary matters for some moves (like low kick for example that gains strenght the more heavy the target is)
I see no use now or in the future for size or weight in pokemon go, been a simple casual game, but everything can happen
