Absolutely not, because im not going cheat or support the tools that spoofers nurture their accounts with!

I don't think it is this black or white, and let me explain, I don't use a tracking tool but we have a group in my town and sometimes people have said me when there is a rare spawn, am I cheating? We don't know all each other, what if the guy that says that there is a Snorlax at the park is using a tracking tool? Also what if your brother texts you that there is a Dragonite 1km away from home and you take your bike to go there? What if a person that lives in a completely rural area with for example 1-2 stops uses a track to find that a rare has spawned 100m from him? Is he cheating? It is against the TOS, yes, but I would not say to him at his face, "you are a cheater", because I think it is unfair that he gets the chance of getting a rare once each 3 months while people on cities got them 2-3 per week, even more.

I think that if the game was more balanced (less spawns but more diverse and increasing the chance of rares like the double or more if you have less stops and less spawns) and the tracking was actually good, probably 80% of the people that uses trackers won't use them anymore.

And just a small note, for a good tracker I mean the one that did not survive more than 2 weeks, the 3 steps, not this one that takes you to a stop a mile away to get a pidgey, I have seen like 7 rares spawn at my face while the tracking wants me to get pidgey and rattata...

I think it is that black and white. The examples of social communication are totally different as that is in the spirit of the game and is also time limited. Radars do not even compare... apples to oranges...and SHAME!

I am sorry but I can't agree, they are very close to each other, how in the world can you even know that the people you communicate with daily is not using a radar? The only case I would be sure for example is if the person is a very close relative, like a brother, sister, girlfriend or boyfriend, but you can't know for sure if even a close friend is using a radar or not when he tells you there is a mon at a certain place.

I think whoever is using the radar is cheating. If you know the friend is using one and you are using that info then you are too. Now if you find out after the fact I don't think you were cheating.

I don't fully understand the tech, but aren't these tools simply gps spoofing and entire city and reporting the results? Having someone else do your dirty work still makes it cheating.

I have to say I consider all scanning and spoofing cheating. The only exception I see, and maybe this is another debate altogether, but what if you are handicapped? What if you cannot leave where you live to enjoy this game? I would be really upset if I grew up with this game the way I did, got into some sort of terrible accident, and could not actively go hunt Pokemon. I do not think the answer is “Well tough luck you will never be able to play this game”. So, I do not think it is black and white. It still would not be fair to have these people spoof, but I think someone on the Niantic end should have thought about this. I do have friends that are in wheelchairs that simply do not play this game because getting into their car takes more time than you or me haul assin’ down the street to catch a Dragonite, and they just can’t maneuver as quickly if we have to run up some steps or something. People like this have it tough enough already, and I would feel like a real dick for calling them out on cheating.

I think you are soft discrimating the disabled. In my experience disabled individuals are more motivated to play then able bodied individuals who claim the same reasons for their lazy use of cheats. I wouldn't hesitate to call out a cheater regardless of disability.

Actually its not that black or white. Tracking is cheating, period. The core of the problem is cheating and it exists and its sad.
So, if the problem was dealt with, your scenario wouldnt exist and here we are, tracking=cheating and thats what we have to deal with!

To use tracking apps is against the TOS as well as putting a huge strain on Niantics servers because of all the additional accounts needed to map out an area. It's ironic how people complain over the login issues two days ago when I know some people run 20+ scanner accounts at the same time.

You really shouldn't do it. It makes your life easier, sure (that's what cheating is all about) but you really damage the game as a whole.
Also, as noxify wrote, it is against the TOS and therefore forbidden.

No. Would kill the joy for me and I find it unfair to people who don't have access to one as I think their is not a free one open to all.
