I don't think it collects automatically unless you modify the circuit board.

It does not collect (or catch) automatically.

There is a "knock off" version called the Go-Tcha that has the automatic collection/catching feature, but it is not present in the official Go+ device.

Do not take this as a recommendation. While I know several people who have this device and used it without issue, knowing Niantic, it probably violates some rule of the TOS.

Some have success taping the button down, though, to automatically spin/catch.
