Is Pogo Gamepress Dead?
Is anyone still here? If you are which Pogo site did everyone go to? I hope not Reddit.
Answers
Of course not! There are people actively maintaining all kinds of stuff and keeping bringing new guides on this division: Nick Winters (GamePress overlord), SpecialKei (another overlord), dondon151 (raid guides & Tier lists), RyanSwag (and its place in the meta), DownWithTTP (raid guides & maximizing tips), NoLucksGiven (community day guides), me (GoBattleSim & DPS sheet), and more working on the back-end!
Q&A is also a good place for tailored questions and discussion on general topics.
Those kind of questions may seem dumb to you, but i think they are not. Dust is crucial and if its a question between two species, they could see use in different situations or be outclassed in the future by something, you would be not aware of, if someone in here wouldnt mention it (for example Moltres before Charizard CD). For IVs its also not that clear, unless its a 15-14-14 or 15-13-15 question. Level matters, frequency of raids, dust, mons already powered, etc. Its easy to miss out on one point in your own considerations, so even when its just as a backup to your conclusion, the answer here are very helpful in these questions.
For me it's the opposite. All my knowledge about PoGo i got from this site, so thank you guys. And i get here multiple times a day to check best Raid counters or intresting new guides and questions.
I kind of agree thats hard to see the same old " which mon to power up question" but i understand that players are sometimes in a dilemma about that. I really die inside when i see questions about something that is really and overall covered by the latest GP artikel or guide they just have to tip on it and read for a few minutes.
I think the majority of the players here got enough knowledge that really substaintial questions are hard to figure out. And i repeat myself but GP does really cover a lot of that, good job!
By the way just did my first Kyogre Raid and got a shiny...so good luck everyone and keep on grinding and happy weekend.
This has been my main source of knowledge about the game. Nothing comes close!
I use it a couple of times a week, but not several times a day as earlier. I play a little less than before, but still a couple of hours each day. I have a decent working knowledge of many things in the game and are not any longer as hungry to "know it all".
I remember my first question on this site. I didn't have a machamp, but I was excited about my 73% level 29ish Ursaring getting double fighting moves. I asked if it was comparable. Now I'm halfway through level 39, and I generally know all the answers, so to speak. That being said, the Q&A section helped me build so much knowledge. It helped me figure out how to solo Machamp before the days of raid guides and Pokebattler. I figured out the difference between a 15-15-10 and a 15-10-15. I leaned the best dodging strategy for raids of all levels. And mostly, I learned a lot about other biomes and playstyles that I wouldn't have any clue about otherwise.
I don't need many questions answered and more, but I'll try to answer questions that haven't been answered yet, and I still like leaning about other players playing in other areas.
