Plans for notifications on the site?

Basically what i mean is that lets say someone asks a question and i either want to follow the post or be notified on future responses to the question or my comments. Hate pressing F5 every several minutes and having a notification would be extremely helpful for this and other pages on the site.

That would be handy. I'm sure they would like to add features to the site. Probably a lot to handle keeping up with events, updates, etc.
