Pinsir or Scizor?

Which is the better bug type attacker into psychic type pokemon?

Trying to build an alakazam team. Please actually answer the question -- don't just say "neither, use Tyranitar or X pokemon." I already have a couple Ttars.

Scizzor has resistance to Psychic and Hyper Beam. Pinsir has resistance to Focus Blast. Whether that means either of them can survive those moves, I don't know.

Pinsirs resistance to Focus blast is irrelevent, it will be dead or nearly dead from confusion anyway.

Scizors resistance to Hyper Beam is also irrelevent because alakazam doesn't learn hyper beam.

Scizor can take slightly more hits because of having resistance to confusion/psycho cut. otherwise both pokemon are the same against Alakazam.

I've been working hard to be able to solo all the Tier 3 raids that can be soloed (5 of 7). Alakazam is the one that is still difficult depending on the moveset. It is the key thing I want to improve in my lineup... so, I was really hoping to get a Mewtwo with Psycho Cut & Shadow Ball. Well, I got a Mewtwo with good enough stats, and ran out of charge TM's trying to get it to Shadow Ball. It ended up with Confusion / Psychic which works great for solos of Machamps.

Which leads to my response to your question. Because I'm looking for anything besides Bite / Crunch TTars or Psycho Cut / Shadow Ball M2's to try and beat Alakazams.

I use the research on Pokebattler and for doing solos I always sort by Time To Win. Sadly none of the top 3 bug options come in under 180 seconds.

For the hardest Alakazam to solo (Confusion / Shadow Ball):

Pinsir (Bug Bite / X-Scissor): 184.0
Scizor (Fury Cutter / X-Scissor): 187.1
Pinsir (Fury Cutter / X-Scissor): 187.6

I still do end up using my Scizor in my Alakazam solos in the 6th spot usually. I had already leveled one up before doing my M2 Ex Raid. It works well, but doesn't always get me across the finish line.

I can do:
Arcanine
Alakazam (~50% success)
Machamp
Gengar
Vaporeon

I've never tried Jolteon or Flareon as the data suggests it's not possible. Or at least not possible without overpowered mons. I generally stick to level 30 or so (a few are a bit higher if there stats were a bit low or if they have a particular breakpoint I was looking at).

For me at least gengar is the key to psychocut kazam and ttar is the key to confusion kazam.

This is the best answer. Gengar outputs more dps than any other Alakazam counters. Ttar is always the best option when Alakazam has Psychic moves or Shadow Ball.

If only I had 2 more Bite / Crunch TTars! Gengars I have a great lineup so that half is easy.

For 'Zam with Focus Blast or Shadow Ball, have you considered Heracross with bug moves? Not the best option for Heracross, but he resists Focus Blast and is Neutral to Shadow Ball. Unfortunately, he's weak to Psycho Cut and Confusion, but his superior CP to the other bugs might help counter that.
