Pikachu medal

If it weren't for the Christmas event I'd have way less than I do now

I rarely see pikachus outside of nests or events.
If you're craving for the medal I'd wait until a nest is somewhere near you, and then grind the hell out of it.

I got it before the christmas event, and I never visited a nest. It's just a biome thing... I've always caught a decent amount of Pikachu near my home. Though with gen2 here they're harder to stumble upon, for sure.

I had some trouble with the steel and electric medals too, since there's absolutely no wild magnemites on my biome.

Then a huge magnemite nest popped near my house and I spent some days there farming both the steel and the electric medals.

Now I'm waiting for a Pikachu nest to do the same, since they are really rare here too.

That medal is useless...so relax :)

At least you got a couple of events to help catching them. I live a an area with lots of water, though rural. I'm on the edge of river (my street name is the river name). Yet, I've only caught 27 big Magikark (level 35), all of them, in one of the closest city. Go figure.
