Perfect attack and stamina IVs

I have a question about Pokemon with perfect attack and stamina IVs (15 out of 15 for both) but less than perfect defense IV. Do they KO enemies just as quickly as perfect IV Pokemon (15/15/15) of the same moveset, level, and species?

My thinking is that the defense IV stat only works towards keeping you alive longer, while attack and stamina have direct impacts on damage output through energy gain (stamina) and raw damage (attack).

Well yes but stamina (hp) doesn't matter either. The speed at which you take down an opponent is all within the attack stat. The other stats only determine what/how much you can do with this mon afterwards.

I thought that's how stamina worked (hp), but that was knowledge assumed by observation while playing the game. The OP almost had me doubting everything i know...

I ran 1 simulation, so hardly conclusive, but figured, why not?

A level 30 Jolteon with 15/15/15 KOs a 2800 cp Gyarados in 26.2 seconds with only dodging charge moves. He has 20 hp remaining.

A level 30 Jolteon with 15/0/15 Kos a 2800 cp Gyarados in 26.2 seconds with only dodging charge moves. He has 11 hps remaining.

Not quite. They can also determine how well and long you can survive enemy attacks, and thus whether you can eliminate the defender at all. E.g., an attacker who is wiped out by a defender's quick move or charge move just before the attacker can unleash a finishing attack of its own might have been able to survive the defender's move and won the battle instead of fainting, if it had a higher defense or stamina stat (which defense or stamina IVs contribute to respectively).

Theoretically having lower defense would mean you will lose a little more HP and charge a little more energy. Practically though, if anything, that might allow you to use one less quick move before you can use your charge move.
