People Are Leaving Pokemon Go. Are Regis To Blame?

Hey guys!

I'm just wondering if you have witnessed less and less people on Pokemon Go lately. In our group messenger and discord 3-4 people leave everyday and many more are inactive. Yesterday Registeel first came and we would usually get 60 people out there if it was a new raid boss but we only got 5. Today we had a Registeel at the park which is an ex-raid eligible but only my 2 friends came. Are the Regis that bad of a raid boss that no one wants to play? Or is everyone getting ready for back to school and what not.

I've seen the opposite, if anything. Been seeing and meeting lots of new people since Niantic started focusing on events and notifications. It's true that no one cares about the Regis though

I don’t see many people raiding today because Zapdos day is tomorrow and people are saving their raid pass for it. 6 free passes plus whatever else you can do, for the strongest electric attacker in the game(barring moves) is way better than using a free pass on a Regi.

Those of us that have played everyday will stick around. We might not go hardcore for a while, but then return to hardcore when stardust bonus+Groudon/Rayquaza shinies are here.

People started hating the old system bc it was a pyramid built for people that fought/prestiged/shaved gyms for hours and hours. Having worthless daily tier 5 raid bosses for a while hurts the trolling raiders, but it keeps the balanced player in the game w/ community days and unique spawns on some weekends.

However, some like me are on the verge of actually getting a dozen or so ultra friends...that’ll keep us going an additional 8 to 10 days, then the slog to 90 days will pretty much end that draw of maintaining gifts so carefully.

comparing with last year and the legendary birds, I'd say the game has lost around 30-50% of players in my part of town.

Even seeing gyms being held for over a day.

Gen 4 would probably give a increase in players temporarily but i'd say the game is going down and needs a large remake.

more special quests maybe, that can be duo-able. Me and my girlfriend thought that the mew-quests was fun and stimulating.

No, the reason is probably the new ban waves. All the people who stopped playing these few days have been banned or got the first strike. They are waiting for hacks to work again.
In my region people have actually started playing again with these new events.
The Regis have been one of the best legendaries to date: They brought with them Raid day, Shiny Articuno, Shiny Zapdos, probably Moltres, and I think shiny Kyogre? among other exciting things, and we still havent seen what Regirock will bring to the table.

According to some numbers the game has the most players it’s seen since 2016 summer. Regis are boring so people aren’t out raiding them as often after they get their first few, some grind looking for the 100iv but still. That doesn’t mean they’re not still playing. Taking gyms, spinning stops, doing other raids. I know many people are searching for ttar raids rather than regi raids. Plus like others said Zapdos day is tomorrow so people are likely saving their passes.

Never a better time to play imo, a new tier 5, although not the best, Zapdos raid day tomoz, other new raid bosses plus bonus candy & a guaranteed RC from any raid. Certainly not a time to go easy!

It is true, no one likes the regi raids and those are met with lukewarm support. However, people are saving their raid passes for things like the Zapdos raids, kirlia raids, and the alolan raids. Couldn't muster up a single person for a registeel raid at lunchtime yesterday, but there were 40-50 people out for the first kirlia raid.

I think i'm done too if it lasts for a month. It needs to last for 2 weeks most.
