Party Hat Pikachu -> Party Hat Raichu

Finally caught my first Party Hat Pikachu. Does anyone know if I evolve it, will it become a Party Hat Raichu like it did with the Santa hat?

Or has anyone caught a Party Hat Raichu?

I just evolved mine to see, and yes, it does keep the hat.

Better question; why didn't pichus hatched during the Christmas event have Santa hats? And will the pichus hatched during this event have hats? Maybe these were asked and answered already, but I missed that if it was...
