Parasect for prestiging

Parasect with bug bite (or fury-cutter) / Solarbeam has a good typing against grass, psychic and water, and i wonder, whether someone uses this guy for gym-leveling. The super fast bug-move should make dodging easy and load solar beam quite fast, which can hit really hard.

Theoretically, it should be superior to ratticate (bite / hyperbeam) thanks to typing in some cases.

Has anybody used him in actual game? What are your experiances? I have 10 Parasects between 900 and 1200 CP, but it is to cold here to test it for myself. :-(

All the time. MVP

Bug Bite/Fury Cutter+XScissor is good against Exeggutor.
Bug Bite/Fury Cutter+Solar Beam is good against Vaporeon.

Unfortunately I don't see as many other players putting Exeggutor in gyms any more, but I still have several that I like to use.

I have about a dozen Parasects for gym training with every moveset combination except stupid Cross Poison.

I do use Exeggutor a lot, I've never had trouble having a "too low CP" Pokémon for gym, but that's how it is here where I live, definitely different for some other folks. Exeggutor is a lot harder to beat compared to Gyarados or Rhydon...

Exeggutor is a lot harder to beat compared to Gyarados or Rhydon...

All of them have a double weekness (bug / electric / water) and with good bug-, electric- and water-pkm they are easy to beat.
What makes Exeggutor special?

What makes it special is that there are no very strong Bug types in the game currently. If you attack into Rhydon, you can take it down "for free" with your Vaporeon, and still beat a few other Pokémon with your Vaporeon. Parasect is most often trash after you get through Exeggutor because it's its only strong matchup. On top of that, every player has a good Vaporeon, not everyone has a good Parasect. Rhydon has also a second double weakness which is grass.

Parasect is usefull for training against exeggutor. To fight him, i use Arcanine at the moment, but i am building my scyther (Fury Cutter / Bug Buzz, will be CP2080 at level 30), so i can kill exeggutor even faster. Another option is Pinsir, but only 1 in 6 movesets is usable.

So i agree, it is somehow harder to get a good, big, bug (in comparison to water / electric), but after CP-adjustment it is possible.

I thought everybody use Parasect (Bug Bite / X-Scissor) to prestige against Exeggutor? It's insanely good vs Exeggutor.

I prefer my scyther with bug bite / bug buzz. Bug buzz is increadible and superior to x-scissor imo.

Scyther doesn't learn Bug Bite. And X-Scissor is good because of the fact that you can X-Scissor between Exeggutor moves and still dodge. That's why it's often preferred when prestiging against Exeggutor, even though the damage is slightly lower than other charge moves.

That's why I prefer x-scissors against Exeggutor too, however, you can only fit it between two confusions, not between two Zen headbutts. At least that's what I have experienced. That's why zh on Exeggutor has it's purpose on defense too.

Before the Stat adjusments I found Parasect to be an amazing prestiger against Vaporeon and Exceggutor but now I find them less effecite and don't use them that much anymore.

I often use Fury Cutter / Solar Beam Parasects for prestigeing, against Vaporeon and especially Slowbro (If I find one, it became rare after the nerf) which is sensitive to both bug and grass.

Parasect with bug bite/solarbeam is very CP efficient. As a grass attacker (even though not pure grass) it has slightly better stats than Venussaur or Ivysaur.

I use them a lot. Have a whole bunch of them at different CP's.

Before the cp adjustment I used Bug Bite/Solar Beam Parasects against Vaporeon for prestiging all the time. But I've switched to mostly using Jolteons now.
