Onix Hardest Move Set to Solo?
It seems to be that Onix is harder than what we've expected.
Maybe I was just too Lucky that I've soloed an Onix before with
Just (2) Mons...
1. Kyogre L31 WF+HP
2. Gyarados L37 WF+HP
The Moves was (RT+ST)
- maybe these moves are bad for Onix...
I haven't try a RT+SE yet. So I can't tell that I can solo an Onix all the time...
(Disregard the weather boost)
Thanks to those who can tell us with their experienced...

Hence I said "if you have them". And it's incredibly boring anyway. All you need is DPS because anything is bulky against Onix and will last a long time. Which is one of the problems, it takes ages to charge Hydro Pump, hence making Vaporeon less viable for instance.
But who doesn't have Gyarados anyway? If you don't have at least one after this event then you clearly are doing something wrong.
I also prefer those borderline cases when I can either faint out or time out, so that it makes me feel that the dodging strategy and mon choice and order for battle matters (glass cannons, tanky, glass again, all-rounders, etc). Jynx for instance is very much fun to fight for me as I lack good fire counters, too bad the Pokemon itself is not interesting for me to catch afterwards. Onix was from all those points of view rather boring for me to solo :/
I think it's a toss up between rock tomb and stone edge.
Stone Edge is 1 bar but hits all of its counters for neutral or SE damage.
HS is resisted by gyarados and kyogre. Easily one of the better moves to face.
Sand tomb is 2 bar like HS but is not resisted by kyogre but only tickles gyarados. However, if you do the math, you will find that it hits gyarados as hard as HS. 70dmgX 0.7 resist= 49 dmg (HS), 80dmgx0.5immunityx1.2stab=48 dmg (ST)
As others have said. None of the charge moves really matter. If I faced one, I'd be least inclined to face sand tomb, because Kyogre doesn't resist it, and will actually do neutral damage to grass counters as well.
