one species per gym ... one attacker per the team of six

I think if the idea of defense restrictions happens , same should be done with the attacking or prestiging 6 , what do you guys think ?

I'm not sure what you're suggesting.

I think he is suggesting that when picking your 6, you can't have more then one mon from each species.

Yeah I'm going to vote no on that.

If there is only one mon type per gym egg sales will already take a hit. If you do not need to hatch but to get a couple offensive mons then it'll really tank sales. It would lessen the point of building a strong group of elite attackers. What's the point?

"Yeah I'm going to vote no on that."

I hear the boss from Office Space when I read that line.

I think every change would have people against specially with the fact that it will effect them , but I think having diversity in both attacking and defense would make gyms more fun

I don't really think it would. In reality it would just make me bring whatever 6 generalists I have. A P/HB Blissey would immediately be the best attacker in the game. How is it not more fun to craft multiple attackers to optimally attack multiple gym setups?

Plus noobs would be hopelessly screwed for much longer. Like a really long time. Hell half the players out there now are not equipped for those limits.

But I respect your thoughts here. Maybe I'm thinking about it too narrowly.

I agree that is not a magical solution to make things better , but this will push people to have more than the best available option ( dragonite , tyrantier or whatever ) and start having a good one of each .
Side note : May be I am just biast since I don't have multiple of the elite squads lol ?

I get you but speaking to myself it would actually narrow what I can bring. In that, bringing two Tyranitars for the Blisseys and Snorlaxes means I can get more optimal with my other mons. If it's one type they will all just be generalists meaning the diversity of a mature attack squad will actually shrink.

As someone who has whatever they really want to attack with I think you have an overestimation of how often optimal attackers fit my 6. They are usually not more than 3 right now.

I think there is an important point you need to consider , the pole of defenders will change and may be the current generalist won't be that optimal after all I feel specialize attacker would be the way to go but we won't know for sure until it happens also all this speculation is based on the idea that battles and statues and damage all the same as they are now which may change hence every thing else

I already follow this logic. In fact I even have only one mon of each species and transfer others. This is just how I want to play the game.

So how many Tyranitars and Dragonites have you transferred?

One dragonite, and have enough candies to evolve 3rd one but no need because I already have DB/DC. I have no Tyranitar.

So if you ever evolve a Dragonite you'll transfer one of them?

For attackers, such a restriction would not seem to be needed. There is no one or even three species of attackers that could defeat all 10 of different species.

It would make it more difficult to prestige, I do not think that is a good idea. Prestiging is hard enough!

I dunno. What "diversified" gym could stop 6 of B/SE tyranitar, DB/O Dragonites, and P/whatever Blisseys? None I think.

Dragon Breath + Outrage? DB/DC or DT/O?

I think, is a gym filled with steel and fairy Pokémon. It has the type effectiveness to stop attackers.

DB/DC or DT/O you know what I mean.

And the premise of this thread is "one type defender. Whether those are specific one evos or a full gym of fairies both can be easily crippled by certain attack squads even if one three total types allowed. The only thing running a rough chance is 10 Blisseys.

One Problem. I use Exeggutor to take out Blissey, Snorlax, Rhydon, and Tyranitar. He is just an amazing Generalist. That most people have access to. Because Alot of people dont have access to the other top teir attackers like Dragonite, Tyranitar, and Alakazam. So I would have to vote a big fat no.

I have 12 I use. One at 1900 cp, the rest are at their hatched cp...never seen a wild one...possibly the only pokemon I have never seen in the wild other than the final evolutions of the starters...

Edit: I have hatched 25
