And 50 coins max per day. This is bad, not good.

Wait is that true?? That's HORRIBLE.

I have 6 pokemon that are in well fortified gyms. I don't expect them to come home for a while!!!

If your that good then sorry but for me I made 3 coins yesterday. There has to be a limit or groups will run the game. Yesterday people were hanging out in front of gyms with phones charging and picnic baskets. Now they might give other players a fair shot.

Im not that good. It's just that I'm Mystic and literally like 90% of the players in my area are Mystic, so there's just not a lot of opposition.

Gyms fill up all six slots in literally a minute and I think on some level the opposition just gives up because it's not worth fighting.

Sorry I was replying to the first guy. Its good for you too though because now you can collect instead of sitting after reaching your cap. The mystic team is the same here so I barley make one coin after taking down a gym so I desperately need this.

This has gone from great to awful. Guess I hit my limit for the day. :p

On the one hand, I'm pretty much guaranteed to get the max every day. On the other hand I will be earning on average less than before. I really hope they reconsider this

We know. And still gathering data to exactly what the payout rate is :)

So does this mean that no matter how many days your mon has been defending in the gym, you can only claim 50 coins after that mon returns, no matter what?

50 coins max on any given day. Absolutely no additional coin benefit possible from being in a gym longer than 500 minutes.

Hopefully this will stop the people from feeding my mons in those 2 gyms. They've been keeping them there since yesterday and I cannot even check on them (gyms did not give me badges at that time). All I know is that there was no warning about them being hungry, and that they're still in gyms since I cannot use them in battles.

good to know, don't need to participate in gym or working hard for it any more and don't feel guilty about it :)

SO if you already collected 50 for the day (my mon got kicked out at 2am...), do you let your other gym mons expire, or do still feed them? I know it depends on the gym scene where I am (fast turnover) but just wondering if anyone has an idea

by the way, 1coin/10min feels like a short term deal to push people to get into the new gym system

Lovely, perfect for spoofers, botters and multi accounters. Drop your pokemon in, wait until you hit the 500 minute timer, defeat it with another account, collect, rinse and repeat the next day.

Terrible for rural players where gyms never turn over.

I guess this means spoofers are done for the day fast! After they are out, you can dominate again, a good thing.

Indeed for rural players, we can drop in something that stays months unless some visiting team frees us from our prison.

Somebody come to my village and boot the Crobat please, it would have 24*6 coins already, and even if it happens tomorrow that means it will not have made a useful income because my few other ones probably also come back.

Should have done a collective start of 10 coins an hour Starting with 10 coins when you drop the pokemon then 10 coins hour after. Trust me, placing 10 pokemon in a day is tough to find time for an average player. Yet setting 3 pokemon that will sit for 2 hours is possible as well. while they are at it though, i believe they should have set a system of you earning a maxed daily amount of coins if your pokemon sat there the entire day.

The way I thought it should be: 100 coins and 5k dust max per day as it was before, 50 and 2.5k for defending and feeding gyms in total, 50 and 2.5k for taking down gyms or lowering motivation from them.

This way the game would be balanced, people will have a reason to defend and a reason for attack.

  • 1coin/30 mins and 50 dust/30 mins on defense, you get the first payment as soon as you put your mon on the gym even if it gets kicked out inmediately.
  • 5 coins and 100 dust per mon defeated or motivation lowered on offense, this way you balance out in favour of people taking down gyms so they don't become stagnant (prestige is no longer a thing so offense should be more rewarding).

Numbers are just orientative, it could be other amounts, but I think we should get rewards both on offense and defense and make dust a reward again for sure.

I like this idea. Really hope they reconsider the 50 coins per day limit OR they give us some alternative benefit once you hit that limit (maybe candies of the defending Pokemon's type).

Bummer! Made 78 coins since the change. Have 4 defenders each with 20+ hours!

Also if y'all don't already know. My Tyranitar has absolutely zero motivation but he's still in the gym. It looks like time won't kick the put but a combat loss

This essentially means you hit the limit:
1 mon 8 hours
2 mons 4 hours
4 mons 2 hours
8 mons 1 hour
So if you keep them any longer, they are paperweights and you will want to get them out. Problem: anyone in that situation is also not eager to fight other teams out of their gyms!
