Old way vs New way

OLD WAY - I walk for many many kms in hopes of cracking a 10km egg and it be a Larvitar... then hope it's IV is 90+%
Then I evolve it to pup. ... then walk 500kms to evolve it into Tyranitar

New way - I drive around till I find a Tyranitar in a Raid... beat him catch him ...

Old way - wow you got a 90%+ Tyranitar... damn nice job!

New way '- you got a Tyranitar at a Raid... who gives a $@€*

And who is saying they like this new system .... I know who ... the people with the big L on their forehead

The game will be so fun in a month or 2 when everyone has 100 Tyranitar and 100 Snorlax and 100 Lapras all with super high IV ... and all with perfect fight moves cause every player will change them to the Best....

Yes so much fun !

Laws of supply and demand .... all high end guys were held very tight and secure ... very hard to obtain ... now anyone can go out and grab a bunch every day ... over supply .... demand goes down .. interest and drive go down... game plummets .... oh well

Yes, it's easier to obtain fully evolved forms of rare Pokémon with great ivs. But who cares! Prior to this update I had what I considered to be a solid squad of 90%+ ivs with ideal movesets. Do I think my Pokémon are "devalued?" Absolutely, from the sake of their rarity. But do I care? Absolutely not lol if one is viewing this game as a collector's game or a form of show-and-tell, they are doing it wrong. Nobody cares if you had a rare mon before the addition of raids. This game is a dopamine release.

But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you have 0 or 100% Iv Pokémon. Infact, with the damage multipliers update, it Matters the most to know what Pokémon are type effective.

This is mainly a collecting game lol or at least its one of the core goals..it just happens to have alot of other mechanics besides collecting. Havent you heard the pokemon franchise slogan?

Except now the best mon will be Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Entei, and Raikou. And those will be a big deal to bring down in a raid. That's the nature of the game, the next release puts out stuff that beats the previous release, so everyone has to get it to be good. Does anyone seriously think that Arcanine and Vileplume will be relevant after Gen 3 comes out? It's just another shift, as these games always do, to keep players active and having things to do.

I agree with most of what you say, but this isn't fair. Casual and mid level players aren't losers, and noobs cannot participate in raids.

That said, Niantic screwed this one up pretty bad - sure hope they can fix it before they run off their most dedicated players.

I disagree with your point on raids, I doubt if you have ever played against any raid level 4 bosses (so maybe your criticism are sour grapes?), or you were simply very lucky (and also skilled) on encountering and catching them these days, those big level 4 raid bosses are really hard to capture, and in a month or two, I don't think there would be a drastic increase of players having good IV pokemon, because you need to beat them with sufficient amount of players, not every player are living in a community where there is enough players every time, after beating them, they need to be lucky enough to encounter a 90+IV one (like 2% of chance), then be lucky enough to successfully catching it with a limited number of premier balls first, you wouldn't see everyone successfully catching a raid level 3-4 pokemon after a raid battle, if that happens, I can only say congratulations to them.

For TMs, you made a valid point that everyone loses interest after getting all their mons perfect moveset, but I doubt if everyone would achieve this before Gen 3 launch and another wave of new moves + move re-balance, and of course legendaries. If Niantic is not an idiot, they will sure balance back the supply and demand by raising the demand by some way else after a period of time, if they don't anything else, yes the game would plummet to death as you said.

And as a level 36 Loser, I would rather say that is a good system for you to catch 'em all, and adds up some more challenges and excitement to catch a pokemon.

I've seen 2 T-rex raids, but too late to do either...

I've said many times that Pokemon Go will NEVER be a very competitive game or skill based game or anything since it's a mobile game...

It will change to keep more casuals playing and you either roll with it and enjoy what is offered now or just move on.

This update DEFINITELY helps lower level players and casuals...Previously, high levels and CP was king to hold gyms, coins, stardust, etc...If you weren't 35+ in most areas, you weren't getting many gyms due to shaving and CP creep.

As a 36+ player, I was consistently getting 10 gyms a day mostly, but that took playing more, faster leveling (great/excellent throws, curves, evo parties, etc.) since I started the game later...I am also free 2 play and lucky enough that I work/play in my team dominated area.

Most of the complaints is that Niantic pretty much may be eventually killing their own game longer term since you really have no more need to hatch good IV mons (don't need defenders at all honestly) and you're also penalized as a higher level player (your most likely highest paying, time spent people) since 3000+ CP mons were nerfed...

All my 3k+ CP defenders, I now rarely use since it drops tons faster in a gym...

Also, after you get the few key mons in raids, I think a lot of people will probably not "pay" for raids anymore...I've done 9 raids, but will generally skip any tier 3 or below raids now...I only want to get T-rex and Snorlax possibly.

Gym territories are gone and needing rivals to kick you out to collect was probably a dumb idea too. This leads to multi-accounting to knock yourself out in stagnant areas...

TL:DR - Ultimately, there is even less end game now and high level, high IV mons and all defenders have been made useless in the game...Once the raid novelty wears off, I think the player base will drop a lot unfortunately...At least before, you had a reason to grind and level (higher CP, higher IV mons) for gyms...
