Ok, time for my longer question.
I’m a free play player that lives in a rural area(no pokéstops anywhere near my house) and my only real access to stops/gyms are the chances I can run out & hit the loop of 10-12 near my work a couple times a day, so I need to be extra efficient w/ my dust.
I’ve only ever ran into one person while doing a raid & that was on a t2 that neither of us needed help w/. My wife plays but not real hardcore & never has much dust but is obscenely lucky w/ iv’s & movesets. I’m need to get myself as close to soloing t3’s as possible but am trying to figure out the most efficient way to get there & figure I need to solo Gengar enough to get a Zam team built & then move to Machamp(I know Champ is easier than Zam, but we’ve only got 1 Zam a piece now)
So my question is what would be the order you’d take things to lvl 30? Also I still don’t have a tyranitar, I’m 22 candies away though.

For soloing Machamp, the easiest path is to get a couple of Espeons with Future Sight. They are a bit fragile, but they hit Machamp very hard, especially if you get ones with strong attack. You don't need 100%, or even 90%, anything 70% or better will do good damage. All you need to get one is a decent Eevee, 23 Eevee candy, walk it 10km (getting the final 2 candy), and evolve it during daytime. Check out the new guide on soloing Tier3 raids. Or, if you take it down with your wife, you could probably breeze through any Machamp raids.
This. Machamp raids are by far the easiest level 3 raids that you can solo. And finding high level eevees in the wild is not "that" hard. For Gengar you need at least a few Tyranitars in order to survive, Alakazams and Espeons are to fragile for him (because ghost and dark hit super effective against psychic).
Goodluck!
You need at least 2 out of 3 psychic attackers to have FS. I can tell you how my machamp team evolved. My first successful solo was against close combat with the team:
1. Espeon C/P ~2500 cp
2. Zam PC/FS ~2450 CP
3. Espeon C/FS ~2600 CP
4. Exeggutor ES/SoB ~2500 CP
5. Gengar H/ShB ~2200 CP
6. Dragonite DT/O ~2800 CP
later I changed the gengar to Dnite DT/H ~3000 cp. With this team I soloed all of champ movesets but could only consistently solo CC ones, DP and HS require multiple tries an a share of luck. Yesterday I got my first M2 and placed it instead of the eggy to easily solo DP champ.
I would say that with my team the minimum requirement for success is to get at least 3 FS from the zam and Espeon (one of them should get at least 2 off), 2 SoB from the eggy and 2 Hurricane from Dnite. Another tip is to have something with a strong 2 bar move at the last spot, sometimes you don't have time to charge a full bar and it can save you.
I've been soloing Machamp for a while now. I only just maxed out an Espeon. Before that my only psychic type was a Slowqueen which I did use as an anchor and she pulled through just about every time. My team was predominantly Hurricane dragons. If you have access to those I would recommend them before Zams they can take quite a few hits while dealing similar damage. They have saved my ass in Aqua Tail Vaporeon raids too. Those are the only two I have consistently soloed so far. I'm pretty sure I can do Psychic/Psychic Alakazams now too. Maybe Gengar...
