Odd area - is it a nest?

Silph Nest #202515 is close to home for me - I visit that area frequently.

I'm not sure if it's a nest, but it is something. I was hoping someone could help describe it.

It was recently reported by someone else as an Octillery nest. I visited 3 times since then, no Octillery either found or in the nearby list.

However, I did find two squirtle in the very small area - which is odd. Squirtle are fairly rare around here.

Also, I found my only two dragonxxx there a few weeks ago - a dratini and a dragonair. Not on the same visit, but on subsequent days.

I visit this area a lot (nice koi pond), and 90% of the time, there is nothing unusual - just typical water area stuff.

What is this area - it doesn't seem to follow the description of a typical nest, but it does seem to spawn rare pokemon at an unusual rate.

Sounds like a typical water biome not unlike one I used to loot for Magikarp candies. Spawned two or three Dratini every other day with the occasional Squirtle or fully evolved rares (caught a few Slowbro, Dragonair and Vaporeon here). Other than that, typical Psyduck and Slowpokes

Also, as far as I have ever seen, nothing beyond a first stage ever has a nest, so octillery shouldn't nest.

I wouldn't conisider such an area a nest per se, but I definately agree that there are some areas with a higher chance to spawn rare pokemon. I frequent a location by the water which nevertheless frequently spawns rare pokemon from other biomes such as growlithe, rhydon, doduo, magnemite, etc. I'd definitely be interested to see if these are intentionally coded into the game or just a strange confluence of factors in the surrounding biome.

There are spawn spots with higher chances of rare pokemon (rare and evolved forms). I would say, keep and eye on the actual spots where the rare appear and see if they're always the same spot.

Edit: BTW, these rare spawn spots come usually handy during events. There is one pokestop near my house which usually spawned abra, exeggcute and now sudowodo. During St Valentine's event I got 3 Chanseys in this same spot
