Occasional additional xp point when catch a pokemon

So I’ve noticed several times that I got some additional xp when caught a mon. But all the time I closed that pop-up window before reading it. So I’m wondering what are these xp points for?

If you mean the extra 100 XP you sometimes get then it's a bonus you get for every 100 of a certain Pokemon you catch.

So when you catch your 100th Pidgey you get an extra 100 XP and another 100 XP when you catch the 200th and so on.
