Not another spring/easter event thread

Ridiculous amount of threads... anyway actual question time. Is there any situation in Pokemon Go in which poison does a better job than any other weakness? I have some poison Tentacruels and Gengars but everytime I know something is weak to Poison, its also weak to a better pokemon.

Poison is weak to psychic types which tend to be strong (Alakazam, Hypno for its defensive stats, Espeon) and ground moves (Rhydon and to a lesser extent Golem) so I would say no. It's not like neutral electric types. It's resistances are also not necessarily significant

There will most likely always be another way to take down a mon, Poison is a little under powered as a type due to lower stats. This was balanced in main series by battle status afflictions which were common for them to learn.

As far as PoGo is concerned:
Fairy and Grass are only types weak to Poison moves. Grass can easily be taken by higher CP fire types and Fairy types got a Nerf with CP update few months ago. As of now Poison type is not a specialist for gym battles, but can be a neautral damage generalist.

True... strong Fairy types would help, or status effects.

It's not necessarily the most efficient option, but some people like using Tentacruel against Lapras since you can resist all of Lapras's attacks, but still have STAB poison attacks.

I don't see it either anymore because its low CP compared to Rhydon and comparable stuff around here.

I have 2 high cp Muks, one for attacking, one for defending. Muk is a bulky generalist attacker and a fairly bulky defender. Obviously he has his weaknesses on defense, but everything does. I like sticking him in gyms where he can be annoying, where people might try and dedicate a single pokemon to him. But like so many pokemon, the poison types suffer from their low cps.
