No Point waiting for PKM Storage Discount?
It's been months of waiting.....i'm currently at 750 storage but i'm tempted to spend all my remaining coins to upgrade to 1500.
Do you guys think its pointless to keep holding out for a PKM Storage upgrade discount at this stage? or still have hope it may arrive during the Valentines event

The better question, is what are you gaining from expanding your storage? Are you currently transferring pokemon away that are particularly useful to you? Or is it just that you are running out of space for evolution fodder? In either case if you do decide to upgrade your storage, I wouldn't fully upgrade it. Just purchase an extra 50 or 100 spaces (and roll with that for a while) while you wait to see if they do offer a discount. Also just a point, you aren't even currently at the old max amount of storage, so what's the rush to get to the new max??
i'm keeping most of them for evolution fodder or moveset that may become legacy or more meta relevant (For eg. i've kept 1 of each Alakazam charge moves in case any become legacy). I've also been debating on how many legendary mons to keep given niantic track to keep rolling out 1 per month.
At the same time, raiding every day has also slowly congest my PKM storage as i refuse to transfer out those 90+ iv raid boss catches....if left with no choice, i might need to start cutting down on my raid boss catches (quite painful for me to transfer them into candy)
PoGo released with a max pokemon collection of 1000.
They discounted PC upgrades for a while after the Gen2 release.
They increased the PC max to 1500 with the beginning of the Gen3 release and gave everyone one free upgrade.
I wouldn't expect another discount on PC upgrades until Gen4 at the earliest.
They have never had a discount on item storage upgrades.
i put a lot of my coins from old gym system into item/poke storage. started a 2nd account in december and i'm constantly frustrated by lack of item space once golden raz/rare candy start piling up and nowt to burn it on. frankly poke storage (evo fodder aside) only fills up if you let it - main account as highest cp and highest IV (if it's not the same) of every family plus half a dozen of each legendary but 2nd is more ruthless and only keeps useful stuff and it's much easier to manage
end of day depends how you play - i'm a hoarder but i did find item space needs to get above 500 to maintain a proper balance of potions/revives/berries/etc without constant mircomanagement. box is easier if you only keep best fighters.
either way i'd not expect discounts on either if they didn;t do it for gen3
I waited nearly a year and broke down, finally upgrading my storage.
I only "keep" about 300 pokemon, but I reserve the other 1200 slots for two purposes:
- Keeping rares (larvitars, dratinis, etc...) around while waiting for a double candy event.
- Keeping pidgey, weedle and such around while waiting for a double XP event. Just keeping the candy doesn't work, because every double XP event comes with a "type", like a rock event, that seems to kill all the pidgey spawns.
I don't use lucky eggs, I consider pokemon storage my reusable lucky egg alternative. I get double XP from my pidgey, I just have to wait.
