No GPS signal found (11) [except GPS works fine on other apps?]
So I've recently bought my first ever new phone, upgrading from an iphone 5 to a huawei p9. I downloaded pokemon go, desperate to play it ASAP after not being able to for months, and the app is refusing to pick up my location. I have GPS settings all turned on, they work fine on google maps and other apps, battery saver turned off/bluetooth enabled/wifi and data enabled/restarted the app a bunch of times/uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and absolutely nothing is happening. I'm really upset about this as I was very much looking forward to playing it whilst abroad tomorrow for the week but the phone is refusing to cooperate - and I feel like the make of phone is playing a huge role in the apps inability to locate itself. Can anyone help me out????

I don't know what else you can try.
Try to swap between high accuracy location or phone only location and see if one of them works better. Do this outside a building, somewhere with clear GPS reception. And disable WiFi and Bluetooth.
In my case, inside the building gives me the error every 30 seconds but it still works (just annoying). Two months ago, I had the same situation. The game would not pick location inside the building, so I could not do anything at all at home. I found that in the house GPS device only, with WiFi disabled and getting close to the window was the only way to make it work. Luckily it's working almost fine now.
If nothing works, try to contact Niantic support (I don't know their email but they have one)
Its Supper annoying isnt it? Luckily It only seems to happen on my second device that I use only with hotspots. I use my old Galaxy s5 and sometimes Its good, and sometimes I get the green screen that doesnt load up my nearby with the red Bar across the top "GPS signal not found. (11). The worst is when we raid and the phone decides to place me where it chooses HAHA I'll describe that later. Here are the things I try and seem to work.
No nearby (Green screen with the No GPS signal at the top)
-I close out the game entirely, then reopen and wait to see. Sometimes Its just a matter of the phone lagging while trying to post all the pokemon sprites and all the nearby.
Still Nothing?
-Force close the app, Go into phones settings under apps, force stop game, clear the cache. Retry.
AIRPLANE MODE
-Clicking airplane mode on waiting a few sec then clicking it off resets/updates your phones with your carrier. This step I do anytime the game is lagging, freezing, clicking on gyms but wont load, pretty much alot of issues are helped by doing this.
the GPS/Location button
-Press and Hold the GPS/location button to open its menu. Check which mode you have your gps set to and try selecting the other modes to see if it makes a difference. After clicking a new Location mode you can try clicking back on the game or doing a fresh load after each selection. On my S5 I use only thru WIFI I have to keep it on High Accuracy(uses GPS,WI-FI, and mobile networks to estimate your location) While on my Galaxy S7 it only works with Device only(uses GPS to estimate your location)
Other times when it stalls and doesnt load bc of the gps, moving around either driving or walking half a block somehow triggers it to start.
Its a lot of trial an error to see what works for you but hope one of the things I mentioned helps ya out. My S5 rarely puts me in my actually location which is very annoying when trying to raid. It loves to place my 1/4 to 1/2 a city block away from the actual raid and i have to minimize the game open it back up and wait for my guy to run across the block to my location and time clicking the gym and throwing my raid pass in or often my guy goes to far past or in the wrong direction of the actual raid. HAHA THIS is super annoying. Also If I switch from high accuracy to any other my guy will stay at that last location not following my actual real life movement. Im able to literally chance the location mode and its sends my trainer to the last gym I interacted with! Good luck and I hope something in this ramble helps you or others.
